The Hunter Valley Mercure Resort is situated perfectly in the middle of the beautiful vineyards of Pokolbin and Hunter Valley wine region. The hotel is a collection of beautiful buildings housing comfortable, relaxing rooms with extremely welcoming bedding, shaded balconies and pristine bathrooms with the best showers. The wine list was excellent and the food was very good. The library... More

Very clean and comfortable with lovely deck to relax on. The hostess was very helpful and friendly. She greeted us and made sure we were well looked after every time we saw her. Free DVDs were a bonus too. The resort was obviously most used for group bookings and it was a little off putting as a couple to have... More

This 'resort' is really a glorified motel. It is the most central place you can find in the HV (walk next door to 3 very good wineries). The rooms are good, but the whole venue is a little tired and a bit 90s, but the staff make up for it. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was OK, some... More

I live in Sydney and getting away for a night or 2 with an easy drive of 2 hours (unless you leave on a Friday night before 7pm) makes such a great quick getaway that is too hard to overlook if you have been working hard for the money all week!!! The Hunter Resort has plenty of action if you... More

This is a winery basically which appears to have tagged on some cabins and added a small pool and a restaurant area to make it a motel. Room - cabin was fine. Watched the wine making video with taster session - ok but no big deal. Stay also included a free wine tour in the morning (9 o’clock as was... More

Good place to base yourself while exploring this amazing wine region. Rooms serve there purpose but are showing signs of age and could do with a facelift. Shame there is no table and chairs on the patio to enjoy a glass or two overlooking the vines, sitting on a park bench provided is not quite the same. Great choice of... More

The hotel is between Broke and Polkobin but nearer to Broke. Chose it because I wanted to do a wine tasting but needed to be in walking distance. The hotel is part of the Hunter Valley Resort which includes a small boutique winery, a cellar for tasting, a restaurant and bar that sells a variety of locally brewed beers. Just... More

We stayed here for 2 nights after spending 5 days in Sydney. The hotel is in a lovely position and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet As part of our package, we enjoyed the wine tasting and Terry helped us choose a suitable wine to enjoy on our patio before dinner. He was very knowledgable about all the local... More

A good and open location with vineyards all around. Pizzas in the cafe and beer/wines at the bars are superb. Visiting the vineyards, wine theatre experience are all a thing to experience. Hunter Valley Gardens, Cheese factory, Museum area all near. Kangaroos just infront of our room's doorstep..Wow..

Exceptional service at the cellar door and also by all staff in reception and in the restaurant. I was extremely surprised at the high quality of the food at dinner. we booked this hotel when we went to the Paul Simon and Sting Concert in February. The hotel was conveniently located on one of the concert/event bus routes .
