3 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

Just stayed there for a nite as part of the tour group. Place is quiet and relaxing. Rooms were good, except the kettle was a bit dirty. So don't expect a 5 star standard, but good enough for a nite stay. We went to the hunter valley garden Christmas lights and they were so beautiful. Over experience was wonderful.

Stayed here overnight with a group of colleagues and truly enjoyed it. Had a room facing the vineyard with very comfortable bed, pillows and duvet. There's a coffee and tea making facilities, flat screen TV and good shower with bathtub. What is important here are the activities that you can do with your colleagues, friends or family. You can learn... More

Just returned from a one night stay and it was great. The Hunter room was good size with single trundell bed, hot powerful shower, free bottled water and a beautiful view overlooking the Hunter. Breakfast was such good value. Weren't able to use the pool, due to cold weather but looked inviting. Great place to base yourself without having the... More

Probably not a 'resort' in the true sense of the word but a lovely place to stay. I paid a bit more to upgrade us to a spa room which also had a small kitchenette. As we were staying for 3 nights, this worked well for us as we did a bit of food shopping. It was a hot weekend... More

My husband and I had a very relaxing time. It is a typical country resort. We had people next door that were very noisy and the staff were very helpful and we were moved to a different room. All the staff that we dealt with couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend this resort to other... More

The resort is in pleasant country surroundings. It is old but the rooms are clean with a modern bathroom and beds are comfortable. There is a small refrigerator and bottled water is provided as the dam or bore water from the tap might cause some concern. Rooms are serviced with a bed make up and emptying of trash bins. Bath... FYI - our dining facility is not, nor advertised as a 'restaurant', it is a relaxed casual Brewhouse/Pub style with an excellent blackboard menu. Re your comment regarding the wedding you attended, The wedding couple's feedback was "Great location, our photos turned out great, food and beverages were very nice, everyone had awesome time, Definitely recommend this place to all... THE MANAGEMENT HAVE GOT NO IDEA. The entire system need help. Rooms are ordinary. Some of the staff are nice but on balance you wouldn't stay their. Management have the attitude from hell. Nicer places to stay in the Hunter Valley.

It seems your travel agent sold your group a 3 night “5 star Luxury Hunter Escape”. They did negotiate a value deal with us, also directly with the cheese people & segway operators. Nowhere in OUR marketing, do we say we are a ‘5 star luxury resort’. We say are a 35 room family owned and operated country inn or... More

My rating for this property would be a 3.5. Since there isn't such an option, I have chosen to provide it a average rating. The good points: 1) it is fairly family friendly and I believe the kids appreciated the playground, space to run about and the horse riding experience (although it is not cheap and the horse riding outfit... We had a thoroughly enjoyable three-night stay. All the staff were attentive, friendly and courteous. The Cellar Master (Tuesday am) gave us the most informative talk we've ever had anywhere and we enjoyed the wine theatre and tasting. Our room was not luxurious but was a good size, with a restful view over the vinehards to the hills, efficient service... More
