We found the Duntry league guesthouse on wotif while on the back to Canberra on our road trip holiday and decided to stay the night in Orange. We had no idea what the place was and the name did sound unusual at first. Little did we realise that it's actually a golf course, country club type setup with a huge... More

Lovely old mansion very close to the centre of Orange. The room was basic but very comfortable and very affordable and very clean. Lots of creaky floor boards in character of the house. A continental breakfast included in a pretty breakfast room. We had the more basic room in the "servants" area I think, so cannot comment on the the... More

Had the opportunity to visit Orange and stay at Duntryleague three times and always a fabulous experience and I am looking forward to another stay over soon. Available are a few different styles of rooms but my preference is with the period style suites, upstairs at front of house. To experience amazing food is in the club portion of the... More

It was an absolutely beautiful builiding. Room was nice, clean and tidy. Decorated in keeping with the charm of the builiding. The view from the balcony was great with the autumn leaves. I would have loved to have spent more time there. Only dissapointment was we didn't get a two bedroom but I should have booked more than 3 days... More

We loved the tall ceilings and really old-fashioned charm that the place had. Wasn't the fanciest or most high-tech, but was a great place to get rest and close to all major attractions. If you play golf then you'd be in heaven, I regretted not bringing my clubs!

I took a Sunday golf package which gave me two rounds of golf, plus accomodation and I was on my own, but with someone at orange to play with so I played 18 holes on Sunday and snuck out for 9 holes before work on Monday. 27 holes of golf, plus accomodation including breakfast for around $ 170. Cheaper obviously... More

Stayed there for two nights, partly to play golf at the beautiful course next to the guesthouse. The grand old dame could do with a bit of TLC but the features of the building are a pleasure to look at. The staff was most helpful. Would happily stay again.

It was evening when we got there, and checked into our hotel, Duntryleague - a majestic building on the golf course, built in 1876 by James Dalton, the son of an Irish convict - all huge doorways, high ceilings, and stained glass. The beds were super comfortable, the room was warm (and large, we had five of us in there... More

Whenever we visit Orange we stay at Duntryleague Guesthouse. The historic house has lots of atmosphere and character, much better than staying in a hotel. On our last visit we had a renovated room that led out onto the balcony, although small it was clean and comfortable enough, the heating and electric blankets were a real plus in the middle... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The historic Duntryleague guesthouse is situated in the botanical gardens setting of the Duntryleague's prestigious 18 hole championship golf course. Built in 1876 by local businessman James Dalton, the building now offers 14 accommodation rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. Accommodation in this 19th century mansion is in four categories, from original master suites (Mansion rooms) to smaller guest rooms (Standard rooms). Many of the rooms are multi-bedded and suit the needs of families and groups. We also have rollaway beds and cots available on request. All guest rooms are strictly non-smoking, and have recently been upgraded with new bedding and modernised furniture, some including work desks. As well as the ensuite, guestrooms also have a television, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, small refridgerator, clock radio and tea/coffee making facilities. Painting and refurbishing of the guest rooms has started taking place. All room rates include continental breakfast, although a cooked breakfast is available for an additional charge. Guests are welcome to utilise the Club's facilities, including; Golf Course Tennis Courts Bar Brasserie (Open every day for lunch, Tuesday-Saturday for Dinner, Saturdays & Sundays for Breakfast & Brunch). The Guesthouse offers a variety of spaces for guest use, including the breakfast room and guest lounge with an open fireplace. Private functions and special arrangements for groups, such as BBQ's on the terrace, can be arranged. Unfortunately, due to being heritage listed and the historic nature of Duntryleague, there is NO disabled access to the guesthouse. All guestrooms involve climbing stairs, as we are not permitted to install an elevator. Please also be mindful that as we are an older building, there may be the occasional creaky step or floorboard, but this is all apart of Duntryleague's charm! We are only a 2 minutes drive from the Orange CBD, and a 10 minute walk! We look forward to meeting you on your upcoming getaway to Duntryleague, Orange, NSW. ... more   less
