Location good but it's quiet for a reason. Superior room is airy with balcony door open which is good but a trip hazard walking out to balcony. View of harbour lovely but west facing means hot in the afternoon. Air conditioner worked but after looking at it outside I wondered how. Bed firm but ok room furniture either needs replacing... My husband and I just got back from a lovely weekend away together. We stayed at the Novocastrian, and yes there are a few older style things about the place, however we found it rather charming, an excellent location and within walking distance to everything. We sat out on the veranda eating cheese and crackers with a bottle of wine,... More

Had third floor end room (superior) with balcony view of river traffic. Being western side, room heated up in afternoon. Sliding door gave fresh air. Aircon worked. Bed was large and comfortable. Bar fridge was roomy, contents reasonably priced. Room had a two seater lounge, small table and chairs, TV, usual tea/coffee things. Not cramped. Clean, respectable, serviced daily. Lift... More

I called into the motel and asked to view the room , the lady in reception basically told me to get lost , I have never in my life been treated in such a manner when looking for accomadation . Having worked in the hospitality sector myself I would expect to be looking for another job if I treated prospective... More

When our usual accommodation choices were unavailable we booked at The Novacastrian. Our last stay here was 15 years ago and we thought it must have improved since. Renovations, upgrades maybe??? Nope!! As bad as it's ever been!!! Bathroom straight out of the 50s, as were the beds. A view of a few scaffolding and pallets sitting on an awning,... More

It's a prime location- close to the beach and very central! I enjoyed my overnight stay at the Novocastrian. I had one of the standard rooms with 'ocean glimpses' from my little balcony. The room was clean and the staff were obliguing.

I needed to make a trip to Newcastle to set up an exhibition. It was a long holiday weekend, and all the hotels were fully booked. The Novocastrian was the only hotel I could find at the last minute. I made an initial booking for whatever they had available, and put in a request to contact me should a room... More

before I heading to Newcastle, read those reviews about this motel, feel a bit scare.... But over two days stay, both me and my wife like it ------ nice clean room, good view, good location to everywhere, friendly staff.... Next time we will back to here again. Thanks

My first three thoughts: 1. Tired seaside apartments with a 95% obscured view. 2. A Motor Inn without available parking. 3. Overworked staff. As I checked in, the fellow on reception greeted me with a complaint about the previous customer. I am sure he was going to give the next customer a similar complaint about me. He gave me the...
