Have stayed at Travelodge Newcastle several times over the last three years, and I have been happy to return after each stay. The rooms have always been in generally good condition, comfortable and clean, and the hot buffet breakfast selection has always been very good. Guests now have to pay for parking at the motel - some of the parking... more

i was so excited to book travelodge because the photos look great and the pool seems fantastic and according to the description, it's in the heart of the city. we got there and i asked the reception if there was another travelodge because the one we went to had only 6 floors, whereas in the photo it looked like 20... more

I found the hotel to have everything you needed. Location isnt as close to the centre but its a 5-10 mins walk to beach. Newcastle has a lovely beach but the main street could do with a lick of paint. The hotel room was spacious and clean, couldnt fault it for the money. more

I stayed here on a Sunday and Monday night and therefore avoided the hen and stag parties. It was quiet and the room was a standard normal travel lodge room. It was perfect for the price paid and is within walking distance of the quay side and the millenium bridge. more

I arrived at the hotel late, after a cancelled 40 minute flight, followed by a one hour flight and two hour bus ride, so it was after midnight. Tired and wanting to sleep, the staff were great when I arrived. But, my room key didn't work, and two trips back down to reception resulted in me being let into my... more

Its a travelodge, what can I say, they are all the same to me, it was clean and perfectly fine for what it is, had foxtel, usual awful 10am Aussie check out. But word to the wise book it on their own website as then you'll get a king size bed and breakfast for $159 for 2 versus no breakfast... more

The Travelodge Newcastle is a pretty average hotel, inside and out. The lobby and restaurant are small, and the two lifts are quite slow. The rooms are also small, but do contain the bare essentials (bed, fridge, tv, table, etc.) And if you want a view, don't stay on the northern side of the hotel on the lower levels. The... more

As a disclaimer/opening note, I stayed here several years ago, before it was operated by Travelodge. Then, it was quite dowdy - but Travelodge have done an excellent job renovating the place. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful the entire time. I didn't go to the pool/restaurant/gym etc. The room itself was quite refreshing post-renovations, nice 'warm' vibe... more

As far as I could work out this hotel has recently changed hands from Best Western to Travelodge. Not being a great fan of Best Western generally (or "Nasty Western" as I prefer to call them), this explained some of the shortcomings of this hotel. They were about to start upgrading (should that have been demolishing...??). The property was generally... more
