I stayed here for one night on my way to Melbourne from the Gold Coast. Big and quiet hostel. Stayed in 5 girls room and i got a good night sleep. The room was big and easy to move around in and place your stuff. I got sheets but also a thick blanket if it got to cold. The kitchen... More

Absolutely dirty and creepy, as well. Used papers and rubbish in the restrooms. Nobody is there, and wants to stay there! So may you feel lonely. Could be... Spend your Money everywhere else :) it isn't worth it...

Cute hostel in great location however... there are dead cockroaches in the showers and common room. Brought this to the attention of reception but didn't seem to care and they were still there for days after... Also heard of several people having food stolen from their shelves (this frustratingly happened to me also). Newcastle as a whole is quite pretty... More

This is a realy special place. A classic building with a realy big chill area. Alot of sofa's, pingpong table, TV with movie, etc. The kitchen is massive and clean. Free surfboards and bodyboards for use. There is a small beach located 5 minutes walk from the hostel. I realy reccomand to go there when the weather is good. You... More

It is only a 2 minute walk to the nearest beach which is perfect. The hostel itself is very nice, with old features and a large kitchen and social area. Lots of videos to choose from to watch and there was free popcorn the night we stayed. Downside, there's no wifi, unless you're prepared to pay for it or are... More

I was completely happy with this hostel! It had everything one could need and the location is absolutely unmatched! One street away from the beach. It was really convenient, in the morning i had a 5 minute walk to the beach and could watch dolphins pass by. Really great!

Stayed 2 nights. Location is very nice, near to beach and station. However, inside of the hostel is not so clean, especially kitchen. It's bad point. Good point is spacious and cozy living room. enjoyed reading books and watching Austraian open tennis there.

Booked this hostel as a part of my trip up Australia's eastcoast. From the outside, it looks very nice. An old building that looks very cozy. The inside however, is a different story entirely. Pros: * Friendly staff * Free surfboard/bodyboard usage * Great common area * Free dinner during some nights * 100m walk to the beach Cons: *... More

Stayed here for 2 nights, supposedly in a twin one night and a double the next as there wasn't room for 2 nights in either so we were going to have to check out and back in. Fortunately, we were very kindly upgraded to a family room for free without us asking, so we didn't have to move in and... More

Good place near the beach and the center of the town. But the room wasn't comfy and we had to pay for the WiFi. The common rooms are nice especially the living room. The building is really cute though and the staff is nice.
