It is located near to CBD and pretty convinient. I would recommend for short stay, especially for people who need to go early in the next morning but still want decent place to have a good night sleep. Not recommend for longer stay especially with family though.

Our stay at Ibis Newcastle was pleasant. This is the first time we stayed at Ibis Newcastle but felt we were in Ibis Thornleigh as it was designed exactly the same. Quality was as expected and service was excellent. Breakfast left a bit to be desired with lukewarm food but dinner was very nice.

Perfectly positioned for a weekend getaway. Close to great walking paths & restaurants along the harbour and beaches. Sadly Hunter St isn't attractive anymore however the surrounding areas make up for it. Our room was adequate and the service was great!
