Bit on the dated side. The rooms are not coherent with their decor which I find really odd. The room I had was BLUE. Blue carpet, blue bedspread, blue curtains, blue chairs...it was really unnerving. The balcony is very, very tiny but the views are incredible. Bathroom was modern and clean, TV old and picture quality very bad. The hotel,... more

I visited Newcastle with my teenage daughter in April . We had a room on the third floor with a view of the beach which was really beautiful, it had a tiny balcony but you could open it up and hear the ocean. Newcastle has the most beautuful coastline and this is the only place to stay in Newcastle where... more

The ideal location for a peaceful family holiday. Beautiful view of the ocean from your room, although not located exactly on the beach. You can walk across a road and stroll on to the beach. We stayed here for a week in December 2006. The staff was very friendly. There is no porter service for ferrying your luggage to your... more

We stayed for one night and were happy with the hotel. For no particular reason we choose to eat out at the restaurant next door, the Sandbar, which turned out to be an excellant choice and we had one of the nicest meals of our holiday. more

This hotel has the best view - the beach, the ocean pool, surfers and ships. You can spend all day gazing out the window and we once witnessed an amazing southerly storm coming up the coast. Don't bother with the tiny balcony - get out for a walk north along the coast road past the ocean baths to Fort Scratchley.... more

The room was a little expensive but i really felt the view and proximity to the beach was worth it for us. We even saw dolphins swimmng in the ocean from our room! when we opened the sliding door we could hear the waves crashing on the beach. balcony is tiny, only just enough room to stand. cleaning staff were... more

I loved this hotel. I was only here for two nights, but I wish it were longer. The hotel is small and comfortable. I had a beach side room and it was well worth it! When I stepped out on the balcony from my room, the New Castle beach was right there-I could almost touch it. The waves late at... more

This property is worth staying at for the location and the restaurant alone. The rooms are pretty average and need a makeover including new beds. But being so close to this iconic beach is the bonus - be sure to take an Oceanview room. Staff were very good in all areas and free newspapers available each day. The restaurant is... more

The view was fantastic!! The hotel charges a $200 per night average, however the bathroom was right out of the early 80's water damaged cabinate missing and mouldy grout very disappointing. Room service don't order the 'bowl of chips' for $6 we got 10 chips I kid you not. Over all I would say overpriced for the standard of accommodation... more
