We travel a lot with work across the country, and found all staff very friendly and helpful, our twin room 3 was clean and modern, as were the shared, individual toilet/shower bathrooms. Off street car park, good security, free Wi-Fi and real coffee, all add to making this the best pub we have stayed in. We will be back....

Stayed with my adult daughter at Sunnyside Tavern for five nights while visiting my son in Calvary Mater hospital. From the time the courtesy van collected us from the station at Broadmeadow we were looked after like VIPs. Our first room was rather noisy overnight, from the refrigeration units outside the window, so we were moved to two adjoining rooms... More

I was a bit concerned sleeping in a tavern with the kids but it proved out to be much more than I expected. The room looked new clean and quiet even though on the floor below there was music. The free espresso machine was a real nice extra.

We can't fault the friendy and helpful staff, comfortable and clean room and enjoyable meal. But, after travelling to Newcastle for a series of medical appointments we needed a good nights sleep and we got absolutely none. The live "music", which began just as we were about to dose off, had everything in our room reverbarating and the windows rattling... More

We stayed at the Sunnyside Tavern in Newcastle for " Star Struck 2014" weekend. We were given exceptional service from the staff from the time we arrived and during the stay. The double room was modern , clean and extremely comfortable. Very limited noise. Entering and leaving the pub was easy and without fuss. An easy 10 minute straight walk will... More

Today we celebrated dad's 90th Birthday at our favourite local pub. We had 22 family members (including 2 wheelchairs and 2 highchairs) and all enjoyed the food and relaxed environment. The staff were extremely accommodating and made the day a fantastic celebration for all the family. Thankyou!

Travelling to Lithgow from Brisbane and stayed at this lovely hotel. What a lovely surprise! Lovely staff and the rooms were extremely clean and neat. It also had easy parking. We arrived quite late in the afternoon but was greeted with lovely service. Although it was a non-planned stop the staff were very accommodating and quickly showed us to our... More

Stayed here recently over a Saturday and Sunday night. Checked in at the bar about 2pm on the Saturday and shown to rooms by very accomodating staff. Had adjoining rooms which, although quite small, were spotless - as was the little ensuite. This is a very popular pub and on Saturday night the place was packed with diners / drinkers... More

Travelling down from Brisbane to Sydney, we decided to stay a night at the Sunnyside Tavern. In fairness, this is a great little place. 12 newly decorated bedrooms above a friendly bar and restaurant. We arrived at about 3pm, parked up (there is a large on site carpark or just park on the main road as we did - no... More

Stayed here for a night recently after attending a work-related function downstairs. Excellent service upon check-in and impressed that the staff member showed me to the room and explained security procedures and room features at the same time. Good sized room (recently renovated with air con that worked well) which was very, very clean and the queen bed was extremely... More
