I have held many conferences here and while it is a great place for conferences the rooms and hotel could use some upgrades and repair. the rooms are big and have everything required. Danni who looked after us was great always helpful and everything was catered for. yes the hotel need some enlightenment from above as this is an old... More

On entering the Monte Pio to check in I was greeted with an extremely cold "are you just checking in"...I smiled and stated yes thank you, the young lady at reception did something on her computer and whilst handing me a piece of paper stated "sign this"... again I smiled.. the only time she spoke with enthusiasm and smiled was... While the photos you may see look great and have a very warm appeal this is far from what you get starting from the cold staff at reception who have the personality of a door mat and would not bother to accommodate any requests. The room i was allocated on level one had a smell that could only be described... More

Have stayed in the is hotel for over 5 weeks due to work. Some rooms are almost completely renovated but it appears cost was a factor as TV's weren't moved to accomadate renovations nor were the air conditioners leaving you sitting uncomfortably to see the TV in some rooms and either freezing or hot depending which side of some beds... This is our second visit to this hotel and very happy to stay again. The room was spacious and very clean. They are well appointed with a split level lounge area. The spa tub in the main area is a brilliant feature and is great for a romantic couples night away. Overall a great stay and would recommend this property.

Nice staff, very helpful and friendly. The hotel looks like a 5 stars castle-hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Public areas are amazing, with nice furniture everywhere. Need maybe a bit more of animation but we stayedduring summer holidays and it is not really an holiday place. But if owners want to keep their place to an acceptable level,... More

We recently stayed for two nights. Property has been well transformed, rooms very spacy, clean linen and breakfast well presented but positives all end there. They lost our booking for a start. Reception staff nice enough but no idea of welcoming guests, communicating about the area, the hotel or handing out maps. (First time it is a very spread out... More

This is one of our favourite weekend getaways one hour from our northern address in Sydney. The executive Suites are spacious living although bathrooms are very compact. Comfy bed and sheets. We wouldn't eat on site and loved the breakfast in town at the art gallery.

We stayed here on Saturday night, having a concert to attend at the Hunter Valley. When we pulled up, I was a bit dubious, but I was pleasantly surprised once we walked inside. The building itself is very old, and the rooms were lovely and big. We had a spa room, and the room was very clean, nothing was needed... More
