What a good Pub. My wife and I decided to have lunch here today and what a good decision it was. From the moment we were met by Jecinta, yes greeted and seated, to our excellent meals, we left very impressed. Clean, welcoming staff, and obviously a favoured hotel in Goulburn, we will call this "our local" when we next... More

Rooms are very basic. That's okay we were just overnighting. I think they have some updated rooms for a bit more. As a budget room it was okay. Bit of music noise from the hotel, and from rooms upstairs - not excessive but would bother a light sleeper. Aside from the room though, the food & service in the bistro... More

Great for a quick stopover. You get what you pay for, cheap price and basic accommodation. There wasn't a proper ceiling in the bathroom and some debris was falling through. On a positive note, it's location is central and the pub downstairs is great and lively.

A very conveniently situated Hotel in the main Street close to shops and restaurants. Comfortable and clean with a bistro/ wine bar. The shower was dark and small and no bed lamps which would have made a huge difference to our enjoyment.

Last Thursday evening my husband and I decided to stay in this motel as it appeared to be centrally located. We paid $95 for Room 33. We have both travelled the world and never ever have we experienced a worse room. Pokey shower room with no ceiling just cor flute sign across the rafters with a huge gap - I... More

Booked in to one of the cheapest rooms to break the drive to Sydney. Staff were pleasant admist a noisy Friday evening crowd. Room was basic and small. As I was only staying a night did not concern me. However if you were looking for a longer term stay would recommend finding another place. Being a Friday night the entertainment... More

I stayed there two nights and was satisfied with the overall quality of the service. It is a motel rather than a hotel, and priced adequately. The rooms were as-expected from a motel, clean and ok. I was pleasantly surprised with the bar and restaurant, where the locals meet. Many beers on tap, kind personell and reasonably priced food with... More

Terrible experience. Wasn't expecting anything flash for the price but the beds were uncomfortable and no light in the shower. Also wasn't advised at time of booking that the back of the pub was an open area meaning the music was going right through the rooms out the back.

Hi there We are sorry to hear about your negative experience in our motel. We offer both basic/standard rooms and premium rooms here at The Astor and you must have stayed in a standard room. It was a nice and very clean place to stay with basic amenities after a tiring drive, at a reasonable price - usually 70-100 AUD, depending on single versus dual occupancy, good value for money. Obviously, not for a longer stay - small shower area may be annoying for families & large people, the aircon was not particularly efficient in... More

Hi there Thankyou very much for your review. We are very grateful, and appreciative for you choosing our motel for our stopover. We do offer both standard and premium rooms. Based on your review of the $70 price you stayed in our standard room which is exactly that; a basic motel room appropriate for a quick stopover. We don't advertise it... More
