I organised for my out of town family and friends to stay at the Cally B&B and their cottages for the weekend of my wedding. Their responses were WOW WOW WOW... The service, accomadation, value for money and food were amazing. One of my friends even wanted to pack Barb and Hugh in their suitcases and take home with them.... More

I often say "We seem to get the nicest people staying with us" and it's true. I suppose it's also true that you get back what you give out so in a way its Karma. What is certain is that if you choose to stay with us we will do our very best to send you home raving about Broken... More

I would like to say a big thank-you to Hugh and Barb for making our stay in Broken Hill a memorable experience. We found the accommodation through Trip Advisor. It was a wonderful find and one I would happily recommend. Barb kindly picked us up from the airport and helpfully pointed out some places to eat and made suggestions as... More

Upon entering the airport, we were greeted by a lovely smiling face...it was Barb, one of our generous hosts, coming to pick us up. Our questions were answered, information about the town and surrounding areas was given and we were settled in nicely. The lounge area was a delight after a day sightseeing, a cozy little retreat. Breakfast was delightful.... More

I have the pleasure of staying at the Cally on a semi regular basis - and would have it no other way. The rooms are by comfortable, the breakfasts are wonderful and, as a value proposition, the Cally it unbeatable. Those are not the reasons I return time after time. The reason I return is that it is a home... More

Thanks KMWick for your review - Just occasionally we have the chance to build longer term relationships with those who have a need to visit often. When it reaches the stage where it is like 'family' there is something special attached to the provision of hospitality. Both Barb and I look forward to your visits - just please keep coming... More

Over from the uk my aussie friends brought me up to Broken Hill at the beginning of March. it was hot! We stayed in the delightful Kookaburra Cottage which had been built at the height of the mining boon. Still very traditional it had all the comforts we needed. 3 sweet bedrooms and very comfortable beds. A lovely tranquil colour... More

Thanks Christine T for pointing out the high level of comfort you enjoyed - it also gives me an opportunity to mention Barb's great talent for making all our cottages 'homely'. If you are to succeed in this business you have to like people, and that's just what we do. Please tell all your friends and family and send them... More

Stayed at the lavender and lace cottage not the b and b (but did go inside looked fine). Being a seasoned traveler to over 26 countries and staying every where from roof tops to 5 star luxury this would have to be the most comfortable and best value place ever. If you want refined luxury and modern this isnt for... More

When organising a quick motor bike trip to Broken Hill & Silverton, my criteria was; somewhere comfortable to stay, secure lock up for my bike, breakfast provided and not too expensive. After looking at Tripadvisor the Caledonian B&B seemed to tick all the boxes. It was the perfect choice, I really enjoyed my stay. The King size bed was comfy,... More

My parents were over in Australia from NZ during easter and we used the cottage as a base for two nights while exploring the outback. Hugh was very helpful and had plenty of knowledge on the local history of the area, as well as things to do for visitors. We even received a hamper with breakfast supplies. The cottage was... More

Hi ivo_2439 and thanks for your review - Broken Hill has unique architecture and the "Miners Tinnies" are a feature of our city. We are hopeful that Broken Hill will soon become the first "Heritage City" in Australia. Although the houses date from the early times in our history, we try to make them as comfortable as possible using the... More

Our group of 7 stayed for one night on our way from Mintaro to Dubbo, and as Hugh said - we had the run of the place.
