A very pleasant experience. I had thought it was going to be an up market pub but in fact it was a small hotel, well decorated and maintained in a traditional fashion with a grand dining room (open fires in winter) and a sense of graciousness not often found in country towns in Australia. The restaurant has a traditional menu... More

Royal Exchange Broken Hill Classic town hotel on Argent St. Our room was one which opened on to the wide balcony with excellent sitting out tables. Reasonable size room and en suite. Oddly has a coffee plunger but no coffee for plungers! Wifi available at a cost. Beautiful dining room and good diner and freshly prepared breakfast. Probably the best... More

The location was great. We were able to easily walk the main streets of Broken Hill. The delux room was Ok. There was a king bed and a good sized bath. Another plus was easy access to power points either side of the bed for recharging phones and camera. However our room no. 14 was at the rear of the... More

I stayed for two nights for work, and having travelled to Broken Hill many times over the years will be back with my family. The hotel is a lovely example of an art deco building in the heart of Broken Hill. Thank you for a lovelly stay.

This was an old pub turned into accommodation. The interior is antique, well maintained and just beautiful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good restaurant quality. Great wine list. I would recommend this place. I would definitely stay here again. The only draw back would be no parking on site. You have to park out on... More

Parking is an issue I am afraid, as yet we have not been able to secure a near by lot to satisfy this need. However the Broken Hill Council offers free parking only half a block away, next to the Local Police Station - the receptionist would be able to point this out to you, and we do offer off... More

This hotel is a neat little place to stay. Unique decor. The restaurant attached was nice. I only ate there on one occassion. Outside they have a coffee window. Great coffee and breaky on the go food. The room i found quite small and the aircon dripped water which was loud and annoying. Also, there is no lift, so you... More

Although Broken Hill has many hotels, most of them are not that good (based on my research, and tips from other travellers). If you have a bigger budget, you must stay at the Royal Exchange Hotel. It is the nicest hotel in Broken Hill (and most expensive, although I only paid $165 per night in the top Deluxe Balcony Room,... More

They have a honeymoon suite which opens to the verandah and right at the corner of the building. The room is large, clean & bed is very comfortable. The only major issue was the traffic lights- all day and all night you can hear the beep beep beep from the "ok to walk" noise. My wife found this quite unbearable... More

Behind a lovely renovated Art Nouveau facade lies this absolute gem! Even though the room was really tiny - we had chosen to take one with access to the balcony - it had all the necessary amenities and the bathroom was quite spacious. Highly recommended
