My husband and I recently had a wonderful meal in the Astra restaurant. After a shakey start at the Red Lush cocktail bar with some questionable Sangria the night was redeemed by some amazing service and wonderful food and wine pairings. I would recommend their speciality the "Don Carlo" a steak with hollandaise sauce and a grilled banana. Hubby had... More

Recently I had the good fortune of staying at "The Astra" situated in the heart of the Silver city. I was extremely impressed with the beautifully appointed rooms and equally warm and friendly staff. The Astra also boast a great restaurant and cocktail lounge called "Red Lush". If your looking for something really special, stay at the Astra you wont... More

The Astra hotel in Broken Hill is by far one of, if not THE BEST EATING PLACE IN TOWN... Their signature dish their Doncarlo is my favourite, simply delicious as well as other delicacies on the menu. Having stayed there several times & I love it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Astra in Broken Hill to ANYONE! :)

We had to book a wedding at short notice and could not have asked for better service. They were prompt with answering all of our queries and provided great food and service for the the wedding reception. A complimentary room was provided for the bride and groom which was huge and very well appointed. Overall a very pleasant experience which... More

This hotel has nicely turned out rooms but the airconditioning is just not up to it. I had mine running strong all night just to keep it livable even though the temp was only around 35 during the day. They also need to decide what their role is, a function centre or a hotel. It's a bit rough when guests... More

Filled with charm and character, the rooms have beautiful high, high ceilings and doors opening onto a wide balcony. Ensuite was modern and glamorous. Good bed, good pillows. Lots of foxtel channels, not just sport & news. We stayed Monday & Tuesday night, so no hoon road noise or drunks bothered us. Staff were very nice, nothing was too much... More

Having mobility issues, I was disappointed that there wasn't a lift to use, only two flights of stairs. When we went to settle into our room the first night we turned the main light on and saw what I thought was water on the bedside cabinet, so I grabbed a tissue to wipe it up only to find it was...
