Two weekends ago my wife and I had a weekend away at the Charming creek b&b. I couldn't rate it more highly. We had a wonderful time mostly due to the hostess who is really remarkable. She went out of her way to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. As well as that she is a laugh a minute.... More

This lovely couple were a pleasure to have stay - interested in the history of the area, truly wanting to relax, and great fun. Guests like this are what keeps me in the hospitality business wanting to share my country with others. Thanks More

From the minute we arrived, Gay made us feel so welcomed and special. Our room was perfect, immaculate and cosy. Very spoilt with our breakfasts and of course "the four legged kids" were a delight to have around. Hopefully we will be able to return one day. If you stay, make sure you meet the locals at the pub which... More

Nice and peaceful place next to the beach so you can hear the ocean at night. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too nice but the cosy fireplace kept us warm. Gay was very welcoming, set up a lovely breakfast for us - as we were the only ones we felt very spoilt! :) Had lots of fun playing with the two... More

Fantastic spot! Felt so spoilt here. The most amazing breakfast. Gay, the owner is so friendly and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour and goes to great lengths to make your stay wonderful . The beach is beautiful, the walks lovely and great whitebait fritters at the local tavern. But wait...there's more...You will just HAVE to go there to check... More

We spent two wonderful nights in this lovely secluded spot so aptly named, with a beach all to yourself just across the road, a friendly local tavern and a stone's throw from Granity. Gay was the perfect host, full of local knowledge, and very accommodating. The room was exceptionally tidy and very cosy. A great shower - with fantastic water... More

The Lonely Planet Guide describes Charming Creek Bed and Breakfast as charming and it is. This little place, across the road from the beach, has just three rooms. Each has a patio door facing the small parking area (just enough for three cars), which allow access to the rooms without going through the main part of the house. The rooms... More

Highly recommended! Thoroughly enjoyed a night at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast. Very quiet, relaxed and peaceful... and SO comfortable! Gay, the owner, was helpful and obliging. Everything about this lovely spot exceeded our expectations.

We would agree with an earlier reviewer about Charming Creek B&B being unique. The main reason for this is because of its location directly across from a long West Coast-type beach. A bit behind the house is an almost-defunct (?) coal mine, but that doesn't affect the warmth of the accommodations. It does mean that the view is definitely adjacent... More

Would definitely recommend here to stay, it was probably the best accommodation of our 10 night trip. Situated directly across from the beach, you could hear the sea on a night. Fantastic clean, extremely comfortable room. Lovely breakfast. Gay, the owner, was superb and extremely helpful. Only downside is nowhere within walking distance to eat, however facilities were available at... More

Stunning review thanks - just wanted to let others know that there is in fact, a cafe right across the park from us (a four minute walk) and two others a short drive of five minutes away. They don't open late though - generally taking no orders after 8pm. And our main cafe, Drifters, which is brilliant, is closed Mondays... More

Don't let the location of Charming Creek on the Main Road deter you from staying there. Our three nights there were very quiet and the location surprised us: right across the street from an endless beach where we hardly saw anyone, and within walking distance of the Charming Creek trail. Gay accommodated our need for an early breakfast before our... More
