Returned to Dock Bay Lodge for the 6th time last January, and it feels like coming home again. Dawn and Mark are the finest hosts in the land and they take a genuine, personal interest in each of their guests. Breakfast is always excellent - cooked to order, fresh fruit, and fantastic croissants. Rooms are very large, very nicely appointed... More

Dawn and Mark (and Colin the dog) made us so welcome at their home from the moment we arrived until the sad moment that we had to move on to our next destination. The room was luxurious, clean and with a lovely view over the lake. Breakfast, cooked to order, was delicious and there was a really friendly atmosphere at... More

My husband and I stayed 3 night for part of our honeymoon. The Owner, Dawn, showed us great hospitality which made our stay so comfortable and special. Room was very clean and spacious with good facilities. Breakfast is far above B&B standard. I'd love to return Dock Bay Lodge again next time we visit Te Anau!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and we particularly loved how you embraced being in Fiordland by spending as much time as you could out doing day walks on the nearby tracks. We would love to think you will get a chance to come back again in the future... More

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in March. I was very impressed by Dawn. She really cares about her guests. We are hikers, and told Dawn that. She picked out a trail that she thought we would like, and drove us there herself. This is a busy woman, but she took the time out of her day... More

Your response is very humbling, but I care very much about everyones stay with me and do want to make sure that you don't miss any of the places of interest that you would want to see and do. Mark and I travel a lot and we know how much time can be wasted by not knowing where to go... More

Stayed only 1 night (mistake, wish we stayed longer). Our room was superb! We stayed in the Luxmore suite. Dawn has thought of anything and everything you might need or want. Everything is 5 star and more. Dawn gave my husband a ride to a hiking trail than will forever be his favorite hike of all times. She gave us... More

Thank you for your generous appraisal of our Lodge. It was a shame you were only here for one night but of course there is so much to see and do in New Zealand and it takes a lot longer to travel everywhere than you anticipate. I hope you got to walk a small part of the walk the next... More

We stayed at Dock Bay Lodge for one night en route to Doubtful Sound, arriving late evening after a long drive from Queenstown airport and departing the next day after breakfast. The house is stunning, with views of the lake from bedrooms, common areas and lovely patio. Dawn Dowling, the proprietor, could not have been more welcoming. As we arrived... More

My clients stayed one night here and were thrilled with the level of service and accommodation standard. They said the hosts could not have been more helpful and charming. They only stay in the top lodges in New Zealand when visiting here, eg Blanket Bay, Kauri Cliffs etc, so were pleasantly surprised with Dock Bay, and will no doubt stay... More

We have just spent four nights at the Dock Bay Lodge and highly recommend it. It is superbly situated, with the most stunning views over beautiful gardens, golf course and the lake, with the mountains in the distance. We had a very luxurious suite, with a veranda to enjoy the views and wonderful breakfasts. Nothing was too much trouble for... More

A beautiful setting beside a golf course overlooking the lake with the mountains in the distance. Wonderful suite that included a sitting room with a veranda to enjoy the views. Breakfasts were excellent as was the overall hospitality.

Had a most enjoyable two night stay with great hospitality by Dawn, Mark and not forgetting Colin the highly amusing Jack Russell. Nothing seems too much trouble for them, they booked our activities and then came and picked us up after an arduous mountain walk ( from the base of the mountain not half way up). The accomadation is extremely... More
