Although we were booking our accommodation a month in advance, Parklands Motel was one of the few available ones left in the Te Anau township. The owner was prompt and helpful in replying to all our queries, so I guess we were not surprised to find that the motel was fully booked by the time we arrive.

We got ourselves a room on the 2nd floor of the main building, which in total contains 6 rooms (3 on the ground level, 3 on the 2nd floor). There are also a few more newly-built units within the compound of the establishment.

Albeit being a little old, the room provided for all the basic needs. The bedroom contains a large double bed and one single bed, and the spacious unit also consists of a full kitchen, living room and dining area.

Conveniently located, you could cutt across the park located opposite the motel and a short walk would being you into the town centre, where you could find the supermarket, shops and a few nice restaurants. You would also find... more
