The best thing about Te Anau Lodge are the amazingly friendly and helpful owners, who do everything they can to make sure you have a great stay. The second best thing is the incredible lounge on the first floor, which has battered chesterfields, complimentary wine decanters, a veritable library of interesting books and a balcony with a lovely view of... The Te Anau Lodge is wonderful. Margaret & George were beyond phenomenal hosts. The lodge was very home-like and peaceful. I loved it there so much, I opted to stay an extra nite. 3 nites of heavenly rest and stunning scenery. Well worth staying here.

My fiance and I stayed here and really, really enjoyed it. The lodge is gorgeous and the owners, Matt and Chloe, could not be nicer. It was my fiance's birthday, and they baked him a cake! This was my best accommodation experience of any place in any country I've been. You could not ask for a more beautiful setting or... More

At this point in the trip we were getting spoilt by accommodations with “Lodge” in the name. It meant we were getting the 5-star treatment. This was no exception. The location was convenient, the room spectacular, and the hosts the best. Like others we were here before a Doubtful Sound cruise. I really regret not saying for another night and... More

Te Anau lodge was perfect after a long days drive. The night I arrived Matt, Chloe & Lola were hosting a BBQ for the guests. Unfortunately, I already had booked in a tour of the glowworm caves but they were so lovely and saved a plate for me since all the restaurants would have been closed after I finished the... More

We stayed 2 nights at Te Anau Lodge, one on either side of our Milford Sound trip. The first night we were in the Kepler Room, with a private bath down the hall (not ensuite, but that didn't pose any real inconvenience). The second night we were upgraded to the Murchison Room, with ensuite bathroom and large spa tub. Both... More

We stayed before and after doing the Milford Track. Hosts Chloe and Matt looked after us perfectly with a great Anglo-Kiwi welcome! The lodge has interesting history, a handy loaction on the edge of town, very comfortable rooms, a cosy lounge to lounge in, good facilities and great views to the hills across Lake Te Anau and north towards Milford... Matt is a friendly and helpful host. We did not meet Chloe. We had a nice view room on second floor. Guest lounge is very cosy with lots of books, computer, tea/ coffee/cake. Wonderful breakfast.

Very nice accomodation. Lovely hosts. The bedroom was excellent and fantastic shower. Breakfast was good and there was free internet access in a lovely room upstairs where you could aslo relax in. It's a bit out of town. You'll find it hard to get a taxi after 11pm. We ate in the Redcliff resturant. What a gem. I would stay... More
