Te Anau lodge was perfect after a long days drive. The night I arrived Matt, Chloe & Lola were hosting a BBQ for the guests. Unfortunately, I already had booked in a tour of the glowworm caves but they were so lovely and saved a plate for me since all the restaurants would have been closed after I finished the... more

We stayed 2 nights at Te Anau Lodge, one on either side of our Milford Sound trip. The first night we were in the Kepler Room, with a private bath down the hall (not ensuite, but that didn't pose any real inconvenience). The second night we were upgraded to the Murchison Room, with ensuite bathroom and large spa tub. Both... more

We stayed before and after doing the Milford Track. Hosts Chloe and Matt looked after us perfectly with a great Anglo-Kiwi welcome! The lodge has interesting history, a handy loaction on the edge of town, very comfortable rooms, a cosy lounge to lounge in, good facilities and great views to the hills across Lake Te Anau and north towards Milford... more

Very nice accomodation. Lovely hosts. The bedroom was excellent and fantastic shower. Breakfast was good and there was free internet access in a lovely room upstairs where you could aslo relax in. It's a bit out of town. You'll find it hard to get a taxi after 11pm. We ate in the Redcliff resturant. What a gem. I would stay... more

Stayed at this high quality B&B for two nights - the best we experienced in New Zealand. Hosts (Chloe and Matt) were really welcoming to us and our children and the children had a great time playing in the garden with Josie the Labrador. Matt provided great breakfasts and the residents lounge provided a lovely environment for relaxing, meeting others... more

Te Anau Lodge was everything we wanted from a B&B and expected from their website. The house is the last one on a quiet road in Te Anau with great views of the lake. The red brick exterior is warm and welcoming and the first floor rooms are large with views. The lounge on the same floor is comfortable and... more

Some friends at theirs about thirty of them, assumed the magnificent task of moving a 1936 convent from its original location to the town of Te Anau, and then adapting it to what is nowadays the Te Anau Lodge. Matt, his wife and his sister, are the hosts in this 4 star plus accommodation. Cheerful and always available, they have... more

The Te Anau lodge is a beautifully-preserved former convent, now set up as a guest house with 6 comfortable rooms. There's a great deal to recommend here - the original architecture and authentic furnishings, the peace and quiet of the area, the comfort and amenities of the property. But the owners (Matt and Chloe) are really the stars here, managing... more

We stayed at the Lodge as one stop on a two-week trip through the South Island and it was the nicest place we stayed. The setting is lovely, the owners are extremely helpful, and the rooms quite comfortable. The library is a very relaxing place to hang out. And the shower - always a telling detail after a long day... more
