I stayed here for 2 nights and would have loved to stay a bit longer. The house is beautiful and has a fantastic feel to it. The lounge/library is a great place to hang out and relax - and you won't go hungry as there's always cake or muffins available. Breakfast is very yummy. George is an excellent host, extremely... Stayed at the Te Anau Lodge for one night prior to a hiking trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's a converted (and relocated) convent. The place is beautiful -- large rooms and beautiful old woodwork. The owner/operator, George, is wonderful. He is very helpful -- drove us into town a couple of times (instead of a 15 minute walk).... More

Te Anau Lodge made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home. George (the manager) and his staff are helpful and friendly. We had use of the laundry facilities, internet, afternoon tea, wine and beer for cocktail hour, and breakfast cooked to order. If I had not already paid for the hotels for the remaining 5 days of this trip I... More

Te Anau lodge has been converted into a small hotel from a convent and hence it gives you quite a different experience to stay in. The rooms are nice and comfortable to stay in and give you a good experience. The highlight however for us was 'George'! Very kind and cheerful host, he made all the difference in the stay... More

Te Anua Lodge is a convent that has been converted to a small inn/B&B. It is conveniently located (as close as you can get and stay in comfort) to Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. George was great at recommending hikes, itineraries, and restaurants. The breakfast was good but even better is the upstairs lounge where you can have a snack,... More

Stayed here for a few days on a motorcycle tour of the South and loved every moment. Not much of a BnB type myself, but everything about this place exuded measured, almost effortless charm and nothing, ever, was too much trouble. Rooms: immaculate; common room with eclectic reading tastes, cake, tea, coffee, biscuits, wine, beer: charming; breakfast: excellent; host: possibly... More

We had a two day adventure in fiordland and left booking our accomodation just before Christmas until the last minute. We were well looked after with a full cooked breakfast starting the day off right then with the helpful advise from the staff we enjoyed a cruise in Milford sound then headed back to our accomadation to have a helicopter... I`ll reiterate Moosemom 10`s review . George & Mark are wonderful hosts and we too wouldn`t stay anywhere else. The Breakfast is great . The rooms very pleasant & comfortable. Nice lounge to relax in with complimentary Tea/Coffee/Wine.

Thank you, George, for another fabulous stay at Te Anau Lodge! For those who are contemplating a visit to Te Anau, you simply must stay here. We visit regularly and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. George is the most welcoming, gracious, and helpful host you could ever ask for. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts are sumptuous, and the... More

The Te Anau Lodge used to be an old convent which was recently moved to it's current location. Upon our arrival, our hosts graciously gave us the complete tour of their facility. The rooms were pleasant and a common area was always stocked with snacks and drinks. Our hosts, Mark and George, knew a lot about the area and provided... More
