Julia and Philip run a lovely B&B from their home. After many nights in various hotels and larger establishment it was good to get that homely feel for a couple of nights. We had a good size area, with private lounge, bedroom and ensuite. Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a very chatty affair, if a bit crowded when everyone... more

Accommodation is comfortable but not special enough to be described as 'boutique'. We stayed in a 5 star hotel in Marlborough ( with dinner included ) for less. We did not feel that we were made especially welcome and were not given any advice on where to visit or what to see. One of the pleasures of travelling in New... more

Stayed in the Kaka room for one night. The room was very well equipped - small kitchen area, sofa and table and chairs as well as a very big bed! Decor was good, and the room and bathroom were very clean. The room has windows on two sides and although the b&b is in a cul-de-sac the snow-capped mountains can... more

We stayed for one night of our Honeymoon on the way to a Doubtful Sound cruise. The accommodation was warm, spotless and thoughtfully presented. Julia made us feel completely at ease and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner that evening. The room was well enough equipped to make a (simple) evening meal or comfortably eat a takeaway whilst watching a... more

We were met with a very warm welcome by Phillip, who then helped us with our bags and showed us to our magnificent room. It was nestled in a lovely cedar cottage, which was purpose built with guests in mind. Everything from the warmth when we walked in, (helped by Julia thoughtfully turning the heater on before we had arrived),... more

We spent 2 nights here and it is a great starting point for Doubtful & Milford Sounds - Magic is the one word that covers it all. The hosts are great and during the 2 days we saw the 8th & 9th wonders of the world- plus the hosts gave such wonderful advice, service, comfort -we were in heaven...what more could we... more

The first impression of this B & B is not 'boutique' but 'Butlins'. It looks like a row of wooden holiday chalets has landed in the front garden of a suburban bungalow at the end of a cul-de-sac! However, the rooms are of a high standard, and the owners pleasant. There is free wifi, a mini kitchen, although the hotplate... more

The B&B was set up in a log cabin style building next to their main house. It consisted of 3 suites. Our room was really pretty, with a really comfortable bed, and nice couch to relax on at night. It had a full kitchen with coffee/tea, port, and cookies/candy. There was a TV with sky channels to unwind with at... more
