Owner is very nice, and his place is clean as a whistle. They set is up for a Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound tour, and told us of other lifetime memory places to go to. Ty Tony!!! ( owner )............

Tony welcomed us in the Inn Alpenhorn in Te Anau in a very friendly way. The motel is quiet, has a laundry, room has a kitchen, which is quite useful, but nothing really fancy. The bed is however very soft so if you don't like it you better know it.

We stayed two nights and were made to feel very welcome by Tony. The room (4) was spacious and the kitchenette was very well equipped. The room had a patio door to the well kept garden outside where we had our own table and two chairs; it was lovely having drinks outside after a day of travelling and we also... More

We stayed only one night before our walk and were really happy with the unit. Clean, comfortable and a great size for a family. A fully equipped kitchen made meals simple too. Tony was very friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions on activities and organised bookings for us.

We stayed at the Alpenhorn for 4 nights, and don't have any complaints. It's close to town, but also not too close (around a 5-10min walk). We had Room #1, which was very spacious (more than enough for a couple), clean, and quiet. The bed was comfortable, and there was a small kitchenette that we didn't really use (too many... More

We stayed in Alpenhorn for one night. The host Tony was a nice man who was helpful in advising us. Rooms were quiet, comfortable and clean and well equipped. We slept very well and felt refreshed. WiFi was excellent and free. We had some problems with the TV viewing, however, I am sure that Tony would have been able to... More

We stayed in the family unit before and after the Kepler Track; the perfect place to come "home" to at the end - laundry, wifi, clean comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Tony & his family were very helpful and friendly.

This is a lovely family run motel with great hospitality. Rooms are clean, very large with kitchen separate and very well equipped - handy for home cooked meals as Te Anau is expensive. Internet access is good and unlimited. Only slight downside is that this is a good 5-10 minutes walk into town.

If you want to go back in time, this is the place to stay. Everything was clean, tidy and comfortable but very dated. We stayed in the family unit which was quite large. Tony was fantastic. He organized our direct bus trip to Queenstown as I had made an incorrect booking going back to Dunedin. Two essential tours are Milford... More

Intended to stay three nights but enjoyed Te Anau and the Alpenhorn Motel so much we stayed five nights in November, 2014. Very personable ownership...Tony Austin, owner, was super helpful with recommendations and securing reservations for outings. Free in room wifi! For the money, has to be the best place to stay in Te Anau!
