Stayed 2 nights here, breakfast and dinner included. Very attentive but non intrusive service, nothing is impossible. A party wanted to eat by the big open fire, normally a lounge area, not a problem. After a wet and cold excursion, staff were waiting with mulled wine and a fire was burning. Food of very good quality both breakfast and dinner.... More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is gratifying to learn that you enjoyed the friendly service ethos and the overall ambiance. Regarding the cuisine, the menu changes daily with courses inspired by what is freshest and best on the day and as you have rightly pointed out these elements are included in your tariff and... Fiordland Lodge is set on a hill looking over Lake Te Anau. All the rooms have the same great view, and there are lovely comfy tub chairs to relax and take in the scenery. The room and bathroom is quite spacious, and very clean and comfortable. There is a small bar fridge as well. We chose the three night Scenic... More

Fiordland Lodge is a wonderfully overgrown fishing lodge, sort of a log cabin on steroids, in a great location, with stunning morning and evening views over Te Anau. Its location, and the packages it offers for tours to Milford and Doubtful Sound, make it a great jumping off spot for those tours (which are well worth taking). It is also... More

My husband and I spent two nights here while visiting Millford Sound. First of all, we considered taking the Millford Sound day trip from Queenstown, but when we found out how long the day would be (at least 12 hours), I said forget that. So I researched places to stay in Te Anau, which put us 2 hours from the... More

We asked our agent to book somewhere nice for our stay in the Fiordland area as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so we arrived with no expectations. What a fantastic surprise. The property is stunning. The area is stunning. The staff were stunning. We felt spoiled the whole time. The only problem was that we were only staying for... More

Could only get one night at the Lodge on our way to Doubtful Sound. Fantastic setting with a great welcome. The entrance with its stunning stairway is amazing. Rooms are good with great views. The staff were brilliant and welcoming. Dinner was superb with some awesome choices and a great wine list. Breakfast was just as good and we were... More

The setting of this fantastic hotel is quite breathtaking. The food was quite delicious, some of the best I've ever eaten, and the staff find time to chat while carrying out their duties in a most professional manner. The fireplace made me feel as if we'd stepped into Alice in Wonderland - it's vast! The waitress just about disappeared into... More

It would be very hard to find a more perfect launchpad to explore Fiordland, New Zealand’s largest national park, than Fiorland Lodge. We stayed here for only one night on the way to Doubtful Sound. Certainly it was not enough to enjoy this amazing place! Panoramic views of the magnificent lake and mountain ranges from my room almost put me... More
