My husband and I spent two nights here while visiting Millford Sound. First of all, we considered taking the Millford Sound day trip from Queenstown, but when we found out how long the day would be (at least 12 hours), I said forget that. So I researched places to stay in Te Anau, which put us 2 hours from the... More

This is a special place, so peaceful and stunning, I wish we could have stayed longer. The service is outstanding and the building and location spectacular. All the little special touches made this stay very memorable.

We asked our agent to book somewhere nice for our stay in the Fiordland area as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so we arrived with no expectations. What a fantastic surprise. The property is stunning. The area is stunning. The staff were stunning. We felt spoiled the whole time. The only problem was that we were only staying for... More

Could only get one night at the Lodge on our way to Doubtful Sound. Fantastic setting with a great welcome. The entrance with its stunning stairway is amazing. Rooms are good with great views. The staff were brilliant and welcoming. Dinner was superb with some awesome choices and a great wine list. Breakfast was just as good and we were... More

The setting of this fantastic hotel is quite breathtaking. The food was quite delicious, some of the best I've ever eaten, and the staff find time to chat while carrying out their duties in a most professional manner. The fireplace made me feel as if we'd stepped into Alice in Wonderland - it's vast! The waitress just about disappeared into... More

It would be very hard to find a more perfect launchpad to explore Fiordland, New Zealand’s largest national park, than Fiorland Lodge. We stayed here for only one night on the way to Doubtful Sound. Certainly it was not enough to enjoy this amazing place! Panoramic views of the magnificent lake and mountain ranges from my room almost put me... More

Can't add much to the comments other people have made - we stayed 3 nights, loved the welcome, the room, the view, the food, the staff .......... Had a chat 24 hours later to one of the staff who had pulled up behind us as we stopped at some roadworks 100 km away, recognised us (or maybe our car!) and... More

I chose this outfitter lodge based on the fact that it was Orvis approved as this company is remarkable in standing behind all their products and services. It did not disappoint! The accommodations were superb. The food was terrific and the guiding was, as my granddaughter would say Awesome. I would recommend this destination for anyone wanting a sight fly-fishing... More

This is a beautiful lodge set in a stunning location. This is a great choice for excursions to Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound and several hiking trails. The lodge is beautifully run by Andy who is knowledgeable and gracious. My favorite aspect of the lodge is the young staff of women who work there from various parts of the world. they... More

About 5km out of Te Anau on a beautiful lake with stunning mountain views, for which they have a huge picture window in the bar/reception area. Apparently the lodge specialises in fishing travellers, but we have no interest in fishing and still felt 100% at home. The rooms all look out over the lake and are very comfortable. We were...
