We were allowed to leave our car in their lot while we went on a two day Kayaking trip. They brought a breakfast tray down in the evening as we were going to be picked up early for our trip. They even booked it for us the night before. There was a kitchen in the room, which was helpful. The... More

This hotel is designed to look like an old fashioned town, and the overall effect is a little surreal. The room was adequate, although cutlery, crockery etc was in very short supply. The walls between rooms are pretty thin I think. The short walk into town is both flat and easy.

From the reviews I read online I expected more from this hotel, especially considering the room rate. Its actually a motel and there is nothing there except the front desk and the individual rooms. The restaurant on site was never open and we could not get dinner or breakfast there and had to drive into town to get anything to... More

We were not impressed with this room. It appears clean, but the sheets did not have that fresh feel to them ... I hope they had been changed. We sat on the bed to watch TV and found the electric blanket was on ... not very safe. Makes you wonder what else was missed with the cleaning. We also found... More

The Village Inn is an old fashioned motel that is very tired looking inside. Some lights in the room did not work very well and you could here people in the room next door, but the room did what it was supposed to. Breakfast was enjoyable. Overall the room was okay for an overnight stay.

First impressions were that this was a very unusual place with the exterior decor of the rooms in the form of a colonial New Zealand town/village. The room was functional and clean with a good-sized comfortable bed and cooking facilities if required. The staff were exceptionally friendly and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. Special mention for Daniel... More

Located about 2 minutes walk from main street. Well appointed rooms well serviced. Good value at about one forty five per night for a couple. The only negative was that they charge for Internet access. Street appearance is not fancy but rooms are nice inside.

After coming from incredible accommodations in Queenstown, this place lack luster. No AC, no WIFI, dated and tired room/bath, no fans for the room to circulate the air. I don't know - everything is booked at this time of the year in NZ, so hard to say what the other places look like. This is ok but sure not great!

If you like space and cleanliness you will love this place. It has it's own kitchinette with electric hob, microwave, sink etc. TV but not many channel to choose from but this is the case across New Zealand. Parking outside your front door. Very quiet Comfy bed No meal option when we were there. 5 min walk to the lake.... More

Hi thanks very much for you comments regarding The Village Inn, we are glad you enjoyed your room and your stay. I must say you did make me laugh with your comments about the 'room/dust check', but that does make us proud. I have printed your review out to share with our housekeeper and her team, often the hardest workers... More

Enjoyed our stay at the Village Inn - room was quiet, clean and spacious with comfortable bed and easy chairs. The room also had a useful kitchenette and an office desk. Pleasant staff. Location was quiet but only a 4 minute walk to the lake or through the park to the main street. We will definitely return next time we... More
