Cheap stay in a nice hostel. We only planned to stay here one night and then camp while exploring Milford Sound and the surrounding area, but ended up deciding not to camp in the rain and stay for another night. The hostel itself was clean and nice, with a well equipped kitchen and good dining area, and best of all... More

A very clean place that's convenient for travelers but also offers a homey vibe. There is an awesome TV room with bean bags and yoga mats with huge windows. The kitchen is large and has all the utensils you could need. Additionally there are board games and tons of movies. Reception is also very helpful.

What a lovely place to stay - and after not enjoying the previous hostel I stayed it was so refreshing to come to such a welcoming hostel. it's clean, spacious, very good well planned kitchen, plenty of places to sit around; a really good atmosphere. I booked a double room en suite and it has a small couch :-) The... More

Very friendly staff, large kitchen and nice outdoor area from the main lounge facility. Couches a bit worn but it's not too bad, private rooms are small, little space for bags if you're with someone, however they just renovated their storage room which is available to all during reception hours. Free wifi and about a five minute walk to centre... More

While I was on the Kepler Track, I befriended a fellow tramper (hiker) who mentioned how pleasant his stay had been at this particular hostel (and how fast the internet was); so, because I wasn't particularly fond of the previous place I stayed, I decided to give it a try. I could not be more pleased! Whatever request or question... More

As is typical with YHA hostel, this one was extremely friendly and welcoming. The staff are very helpful and accommodating and we loved how clean and well-stocked the facilities are. Fantastic hot showers, plenty of lounge space, a cosy fire and awesome walking nearby within Fjordland. All of this AND it is a quiet and peaceful hostel at night. What... More

-- ROOM TYPE TAKEN -- Private Double -- STAY TYPE / REASON -- A 30-year old couple, road tripping New Zealand on a budget. We usually stay in private rooms and cook for ourselves. Most places we stay, we usually need to charge a couple of laptops and a number of camera batteries meaning we have a higher than average... More

One of the better hostels, I had in New Zealand. Nice staff, nice clean room, with really spacious wooden bunk beds, which don't sqeek. I had a really good sleep. Bathroom was very clean. The Kitchen Area is nice as well, allthough it was dripping water in because of the rain the last days. free fast internet, which is really... More

the good thing about yha hostels is you know exactly what you're gonna get. here is no different. place was clean, rooms were nice. not enough plugs but that's pretty normal. wifi is good and free, except after dinner when everyone in the hostel is there and trying to use it. kitchen gets crowded but there's plenty of surfaces and...
