Spent one night....was ok....wouldn't really rave about it. Was a bit noisy with other guests....rooms are adequate but a bit small...were ok for a single person......is a nice walk into town but a bit of a drag after a night out

Stayed for 2 nights whilst we did a Milford Sound coach trip. Spacious and comfortable room with 2 double beds to fit 2 adults and a child in. Clean bathroom. Comfy beds. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Right opposite the lake. Close to the town for shops, bars and cafe's. Would recommend. Paid for wifi in room. $10 for 24hrs. Worked... More

Located walking distance from the town...but the walk is great . Cross the road and follow the lake... simply beautiful. The service is good. The rooms are very average. However, the breakfast staff and service were better than average. The food was fresh and they cleared up quickly. As this was simply a stopover, it was adequate. The rooms need... More

We spent a night here on our way to Milford Sound. Since we were driving to the sound, we stayed here the previous night and started early in the morning to beat all the buses from Queenstown reaching the Sound. This was a great idea and is recommended if you want a clean experience without all the bus-loads of people.... More

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to post a review regarding your recent stay at the hotel. I am surprised at your comment regarding the bathroom as being old fashioned as they have been refurbished in recent years and that there was a cracked handbasin and bath. Thank you for your comment that the Reception staff were helpful... More

My husband and I recently spent a couple of days in Te Anau at the Kingsgate Hotel. While the rooms were tidy and we did have our bed remade while we were out the walls are very thin so each time neighbors walked down the halls we were woken or disturbed. The hotel did have wi-fi but at a small... More

Being first time visitor to NZ and driving all the way from Queenstown, I was expecting a quiet place to stay. All my checks were ticked. Free WiFi, good stay, parking, bang for money. Definitely recommend for overnight stay

Simple hotel appropriate to wilderness location. Room was plain with limited amenities. Staff friendly and efficient. Limited free wifi in lobby, paid wifi in room. Several groups staying the night we were there.

Clean, some fittings are modernised. Near the lakefront. Friendly staff. No wifi in rooms at all a big surprise and let down. Limited free and paid wifi options available in lobby. Overall a modest budget for a modest accommodation.

The room was neat, tidy and comfortable but the stay was soured somewhat because we felt misled by the advertising on the website we booked with. We paid extra for a superior room that promised 'commanding lake or mountain views'. What we ended up with was a room with a view of the back carpark. No mountains or lake to... More

We stayed for a couple of days and were a bit disappointed in not getting lake facing rooms even though we had requested several weeks in advance. But we did get rooms without having to wait on arrival at around 10 am. Anyway, the restaurant has an excellent view of the lake. The staff are all very helpful and the... More
