Me and the girlfriend stayed in the small town of te anu on our way to Milford sound. the lake and the sunset we saw were wonderful. the hotel is a bit dated and wifi only in reception. the rooms were massive and beds very comfy. did offer free parking although the spaces were quite small.

We stayed here for two nights as part of our trip round New Zealand and found the hotel very good clean, comfortable bed and shower facilities. It was an excellent place to stay for our trip Milford Sound - gave us sufficient time to enjoy the scenery and get to the Sound by 10.00 am for our trip. The reception... More

Stayed one night in second room floor with view of lake, breakfast included. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable, good shower. Buffet breakfast in morning was reasonable, dining room has beautiful lake views. Would definitely consider staying here again. No free WiFi except for 50mb free in foyer only.

One night stay in this hotel. Furnishings basic and hotel is clean. Everything was OK. They could improve upon Internet offering the 30 min free IN ROOMS. Instead our whole group congregated in lobby. New Zealand tourism would be wise to improve upon their wifi speed and connectivity.

We stayed just the one night at this hotel. It is a nice walk along the lakefront and under 10 mins in to the town centre. The room was clean and tidy, we asked for a twin room, which had two doubles which was great. Staff were all friendy and had good knowlege of the area. Would recommend to others... More

Hotels are comparatively expensive in Te Anau and unfortunately don't/won't offer a corresponding leap in service. I suspect they're complacent because so many of Fiordland's "Great Walks" begin and end from Te Anau and they have the proverbial captive audience. Despite my booking way back in January, we were put into the annex section of the hotel, across a small... More

We stayed here for a night either side of walking the Milford Track. It's very close to the Dept of Conservation office, so handy for collecting trail passes etc. It's an easy 10 minute walk to the main street. Rooms were nice, if nothing special, but we had no milk to make tea, and the toiletries were skimpy - no... More

We stayed one night at the Kingsgate Hotel in Te Anau. We were in a ground floor room (310) that did not have a view of the lake. There was a picnic table in the courtyard area, and the laundry room was nearby. The hotel is located on the lakefront, but quite a ways down from the center of town.... More

First of all, I'd like to give credit to the reception lady who checked us in and out, she was very nice and gave us good information of what we can do and see around the area. She also warned us of the road condition before our departure. However, it was the cleanliness of the hotel room that really disappointed... More
