After making a mistake with my booking and arriving a month early Win was extremely accommodating and offered to make a room up for us anyway. The chalet was beyond my expectations, a very comfortable and cosy space set in a beautiful surrounding. Set in a working farm, the chickens and venison running around were really cool! On arrival the... More

Our family had such a wonderful stay for three nights at Dusky Ridges. A beautiful, peaceful, comfortable place with very hospitable and generous hosts. For our "city dwelling" children this was a fantastic opportunity to see a bit of life on a farm. They loved the farm so much it was hard to drag them away to see the amazing... More

If Dusky Ridges had outlets in every major destination, the folks at mandarin oriental, four seasons, etc. would be in big trouble because THIS is where you want to stay when far from home. Comfortable, meticulous accommodation in a stunning setting with hospitality that gives lie to the corporate commercial sort. When was the last time the manager at a... More

I couldn't recommend Dusky Ridges more highly! The farm is absolutely breathtaking with incredible lake and mountain views and lots of adorable friendly animals that you get to help feed if you'd like. The accommodations were very charming -- clean, comfortable, cozy, and welcoming. Win provides you with the most delicious farm fresh eggs and other homemade treats like quince... More

The setting is breath taking and our accommodation unique and elegant. Provisions included venison sausages, farm fresh eggs, preserves and a dramatically ever changing view from each room. The skylight above each of the bountiful beds welcomed the stars or rain and added to the ambiance. Several walks around the farm are positioned to capitalise on the magnificence of the... More

We spent two nights in the Cottage in March and regret we could not stay longer. Win’s attention to detail makes the difference. There is nothing missing, you feel at home. It is spotless, comfortable and nicely decorated. Wifi is excellent (unlike in most hotels we stayed in). Win will do anything to make you happy; she even hung out... More

Our family of 8 ( 6 adults 2 children ages 5 & 3) stayed in both cottages for 2 nights whilst we explored Te Anau and Milford Sound. It was nice to arrive to freshly baked bread & brownies in the cottages, plus lots of breakfast provisions ready for the next day. The cottages were beautifully furnished, and we had... More

Win and Heinrich are amazing hosts, the accommodations are excellent (both the larger house and the studio), and we loved everything about our time there. Win is as lovely as everyone says, and we had a great time going out to feed the animals with her (we still talk about Pheobe, Bob, and the alpaca that spit!). Heinrich took my... More

A stay at Dusky Ridges is highly recommended. The level of care that has been taken to provide accommodation that is warm, inviting and functional is evident everywhere you look. My husband and I appreciated all the thoughtful touches, including provisions to cater for a dietary intolerance. And then there is the warm hospitality provided by Win and Heinrich. Nothing... Win and Heinrich are perfect hosts and have created the ideal family stay in their new, immaculately clean two bedroom lodge. We arrived to freshly baked brownies and bread, fruit and chocolates, but that wasn't enough to keep the kids inside. Win spent considerable time showing us the property and helping us feed the deer (my daughter is obsessed with... More
