Nice accommodation with lovely hosts. The cottage was a pleasant surprise, we found it lovely and clean with nice furnishings. All very comfortable in a lovely location with access to the property and animals.

Being a proud Aussie it is hard to say this, but New Zealand and in particular Te Anau and the Dusky Ridges Farm stay is certainly Gods Country. My partner and I fell in love with the South Island this was helped by the great climate views food and people. Dusky Ridges is an outstanding establishment full of all the creature... More

Dusky Ridges was rated our favorite stay out of 22 days in New Zealand when all was said and done. Henrik's farm tour was a highlight of the visit to be certain. Owning a 40 acre grain farm in NW Ohio for over 36 years, I was especially curious. The rest of our group were fascinated by the details of... More

Dusky Ridges was my favorite of all the places I stayed at duing my eight weeks in New Zealand, I felt incredibly well cared for, the food was delicious, the views fantastic and I was also invited to watch the shearing of the cute little sheep. The house was like a Scandinavian House Beautiful spread and the grounds perfectly manicured.... More

We stayed for 2 nights in mid Feb in the new cottage accommodation. I made these reservations about 7 months in advance knowing how things get in Feb in NZ. Overall great value and everything you would need is here. Very short drive to town centre. We arrived to a warm welcome from Win. Fresh bread, eggs, juice, sausages, ham, butter,... More

It has been almost 3 years since my family and I stayed at Dusky Ridges, and it's still on my mind. And so I felt that I had to write a review to let any future travelers know. This is the type of place you visit and never forget. That is how incredibly wonderful this place is. Please stay here,... More

My husband and I road tripped from Auckland to Te Anau and back in two weeks (yes, we're Americans, ha) for our honeymoon last year and splurged on a one night stay in Dusky Ridges - what an incredible highlight of our trip, and a gorgeous apartment after spending the rest of the trip in hostels and campsites. We were... More

My only wish is that we had more than one night at this beautiful property; everything has been thought of. With fresh brownies, bread and muesli ready on our arrival and an absolutely amazing owner to greet us and let us know about the property and Te Anau. One of the greatest aspects of this property was its secluded nature,... More

This is a glorious spot with incredible views overlooking the rolling hills, lake and mountains beyond. The idyllic landscape is dotted with sheep and deer that are raised on the property but there are a variety of farm "pets" that are friendly...all with names and distinct personalities that make for a unique experience. Speaking of personalities, the hosts, Win and... More

I received a very warm welcome from Win, the hostess, both on the telephone and in person, and immediately felt at home. The cottage is a beautifully appointed detached building next to the Dusty Ridge farmhouse. The furnishings are tasteful with attention to detail, and small touches such as organic plunger coffee, quality toiletries, magazines, warm homemade bread and a... More
