Stayed there on the way back from Milford Sounds. The customer service was great and friendly. We had booked a 2 bedroom unit. The rooms were decent size. However, the apartment had an odd odour which just wouldn't go away. The carpets probably need a wash. The building, electrical equipment and furnishing is dated and in need of some refurbishment.... I booked this room late at night and when I was tired and perhaps careless. We arrived after having spent a fabulous afternoon at Milford Sound so discovering what I had booked was such an anti-climax. We had no view, the furniture was grubby, the bathroom was small and the shower tiny. We couldn't go out and close the drapes... More

Most dismayed to receive this review and disappointed that your concerns were not addressed at the time of stay with the Manager. There is indeed a view of the lake from your balcony and the drapes can easily be drawn on entry and exit. The offending cord has been repaired as the coax had slipped down. The wifi has been... We had an enjoyable stay at the Edgewater Motel in May 2015. The room was large, clean, well maintained but quite dated in appearance. The stove looked like it was out the the 1950s but it worked a treat (this is not meant as a criticism). The Motel is directly opposite the lake and a short walk to the centre... More

Enjoyable stay despite the initial issues with the rooms. Would love to visit again! Thanks to host Wayne and team (including the resident cat which kept meowing in the corridor but is obedient enough not to enter the room) :) - sui

The motel rooms have all you need, they are basic and clean. The rooms are partly updated and are clean and tidy. The kitchen is well stocked if you want to self cater. The staff are very helpful. The location is great. You can walk into the center of town in about 2 minutes if you want to eat out.

The stairway to the apartment was not a highlight, that is until we saw the view which was nothing short of sensational. The apartment was large, well appointed and comfortable, and in the morning we watched a float plane do a warm up, pick up passengers and take off across Lake Te Anau. The hosts were very friendly and easy... More

Travelling from Glenorchie to Milford Sound you may not want to arrive when all the tour boats have already returned to the harbour. So stopping over in Te Anau is more than a good idea when there are comfortable and peaceful motel rooms available right on the lakefront in Te Anau. The two room apartments are well-equipped and cosily furbished.... More

This is a pleasant budget motel. The host and hostess are friendly and very helpful. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for self-catering. The laundry facility was great. The room was light and airy with a full window wall across the front. Parking is free. WiFi was a bit slow, but adequate. The bed was comfortable; bath was... More

Upon arrival the host was friendly and welcoming. He walked us to our room. The room was suitable for what we needed, it was a separate bedroom with kitchenette and lounge area. We enjoy having breakfast and some meals in our room so the kitchenette was ideal. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for one night on way to Milford Sound. Very friendly welcome at reception, and reasonable price ($140/night). Decor in room was old and tired but perfectly adequate. In particular the kitchenette was fantastic with everything we needed and made self catering very easy. The queen bed was a disappointment as it had a huge sag in the middle... More
