Trying to sleep here is akin to curling up in the corner of a raving bass-booming nightclub. I expected it to be loud but not that loud.! Very tired and unable to enjoy the next day properly. Despite facilities being generally clean and big kitchen/lounge area, rooms are cramped with little space to store bags, just under the lower bunks.... More

Revisiting YHa Queenstown Central for the second time after 2 years, things seemed to be the same as last time I stayed here. The hostel was perfectly located which was in the town centre, few steps to the lake. Staff was friendly and nice. Room was clean and spacious though my roommates were messy and one of them "stole" my... More

After experiencing a god awful Base and a half hearted Nomads on our travels it seems YHA seem to be of a much better standard, not great but good enough, it was clean and comfortable with opportunity to book tours etc. via reception, nice sized rooms and in the private that we were in we had tea/ coffee facilities, not... This hostel could not be anymore centrally located, my room was clean, comfortable and I had a great view for people watching or looking out into the bay. The members of staff who were on duty during my stay were informative and very helpful. I had been in Queenstown on business for a week and had been staying at the... More

One of the better hostels my boyfriend and I have stayed at in NZ. The kitchen was a good size and it was kept clean. Plenty of fridge space and these were also clean (not the usual spilt milk on bottom shelf etc!) Comfy beds and en suites with good showers. Minutes walk from the lakefront, with some rooms having... I stayed two nights in Queenstown. One at this YHA and the other at the hostel on the other side of the street. For roughly the same price, I was able to have a 4 bed dorm with a ensuite bathroom and free wifi (a lower price and free wifi comes with a YHA membership). My only real complaint with... More

The best thing about this hostel is the unlimited free wifi and the super central location. However... --no public toilet. yes, every room has its own bathroom, but what if two people need to go at once or one guest is using the shower? or if you are upstairs in the kitchen/lounge you need to allll the way back downstairs... Firstly, we’re glad you found some positives in the hostel’s central location and the free WIFI we provide to YHA members. We tried to book the other YHA in Queenstown but we missed out. So the location looked great and the reviews were ok. So we booked. The room was clean but old and tired bathrooms. The location downtown is perfect for anyone without a car. No parking if you do have a car. The front desk staff was very good... More

This hostel is one of the best YHA's I have ever stayed in. The kitchen is really clean, a good size with ample storage. The view from the kitchen/ lounge room is of the surrounding mountains and lakes. Rooms are clean, sleep 4 people, are reasonably spacious and have an ensuite and tv. It's quiet and very central and is... More
