I was a Group Leader of a motoring tour. One of our group experienced vehicle problems, and was delayed a day..despite my advising the hotel, they refused to refund the booking for this person. On top of this, food was sub standard, and laundry went missing. The rooms all had plumbing problems, and the whole hotel needs refurbishment. The staff... more

Upon arrival we were shown to Room 311. My wife immediately tried the bathroom and then reported that the hot tap in the bath did not work. We contacted front desk and a young man came and said that the shower head worked, but not the tap so that was OK. Then whislt he was there we showed him that... more

We reserved a room (pretty expensive) in August 2007 for December 31 2007 - 4 months in advance! When we checked in we got a room that in any self respecting hotel would have been a maid closet and right up on the main stairway and above the hotel bar. The hotel refused to move us anywhere - even when... more

I stayed here Oct 2007 in a one bedroom condo. Very spacious but extremely COLD. The place never did heat up the entire 4 nights we were there. We continually ran the dryer just to warm the place up! The shower curtain was absolutely disgusting with black mold, and no hot water one morning. The maintenance guy did show up... more

We stayed here for 4 nights in August 2007. The location of the hotel is one of the best in Queenstown for views. Not so good for those without a car, as it's about 3km out of the city on quite a high vantage point, one would need public transport or a cab to get there from downtown. We stayed... more

What we really loved about this place is that it is away from the hustle and bustle of queenstown. We needed a quiet break from all of that coming from Auckland. It was extremely peaceful and if we wanted to go into town we could drive or catch the bus (we did both). Though we were not in a lake... more

Wasn't sure about the hotel, because of the earlier reviews-I was a little skeptical. I paid about $10 per night more for a lake view room-you know how that can go (not a real view at all). I also contacted the hotel before I arrived to ask them for a room that was on at least the second floor-I was... more

We wanted a self-service apartment for a few nights so that we'd have a bit more room and could have breakfast in, do laundry, and so. In that regard, the Aspen on Queenstown delivered. However, it was at best an average stay. The walls in the apartments are VERY thin - you can hear when someone next door runs water... more
