The Aspen was friendly and comfortable. Although a little out of town, the public bus picks you up from the doorstep and so will most tour buses. Views from the room weren't an issue for us since we were out during the daylight and couldn't see anything at night! Would highly recommend. more

My girlfriend and I were down in Queenstown to ski and this place was a perfect base, although a good 25 minute walk into central queenstown. In this region you are more likley to have a car and the extra five minute drive out of town is worth it for the views. Excellent value for money and a great alternative... more

We booked a special via Wotif. The complex is not so large and we were initially dissapointed that we did not have a view. Our room was large with a modern bathroom, a full kitchen and our own washingmachine. The boys had their own room via a connecting door. The location is a bit out of town so you do... more

Look around for somewhere else, this hotel needs a bit of renovation. This hotel is not very close to the centre of Queenstown up a very steep hill. It has awesome lake views with a great appointed restaurant. The hotel website that we booked with is a bit misleading, allowing you to think all double rooms with lake views have... more

I stayed in Aspen on Queenstown for a few days this December, and was very impressed by the friendly staff and excellent service. The views from the rooms were stunning, and especially from the dining room- where you can see the beautiful lake and mountains of Queenstown. Its also very accessible, being 10 mins away from the town-centre, with a... more

The hotel is situated overlooking the lake in Queenstown, giving a magnificent view onto the lake and mountains. We were there just before the ski season and mountains was snow-capped, it was beautiful backdrop as you sit on your balcony looking out. The room is average but it's good value for money. Not too pricey. Overall you get fantastic view... more

I was a Group Leader of a motoring tour. One of our group experienced vehicle problems, and was delayed a day..despite my advising the hotel, they refused to refund the booking for this person. On top of this, food was sub standard, and laundry went missing. The rooms all had plumbing problems, and the whole hotel needs refurbishment. The staff... more

Upon arrival we were shown to Room 311. My wife immediately tried the bathroom and then reported that the hot tap in the bath did not work. We contacted front desk and a young man came and said that the shower head worked, but not the tap so that was OK. Then whislt he was there we showed him that... more

We reserved a room (pretty expensive) in August 2007 for December 31 2007 - 4 months in advance! When we checked in we got a room that in any self respecting hotel would have been a maid closet and right up on the main stairway and above the hotel bar. The hotel refused to move us anywhere - even when... more

I stayed here Oct 2007 in a one bedroom condo. Very spacious but extremely COLD. The place never did heat up the entire 4 nights we were there. We continually ran the dryer just to warm the place up! The shower curtain was absolutely disgusting with black mold, and no hot water one morning. The maintenance guy did show up... more
