I travel with my cousin and her friend (3 of us). We check-in to a triple room. Initial plan was to stay in Queenstown for 2 nites, but then I get ill and admitted to hospital for 4 days, ended up we were there at Pinewood for 8 nites. We were given a special discount for staying for more than... more

We stayed for at Pinewood for a week over the ski season. We stayed in the backpacker accommodation which is basically a three-bedroom apartment with each room let separately. The facilities were basic, but functional (with the exception of two of the stove hobs). The rooms were tiny and with nothing in them except the beds. We were lucky that... more

Had a good stay here. We stayed in a double room at the new block to the right of the reception building, and it was clean, new-ish, comfortable and quiet. There was a spacious kitchen in our block-makes me feel like cooking even. Location-wise, it's not very central to central Queenstown, about 15 minutes uphill walk. Not a strenuous walk... more

Stayed here as part of a group of 7 going on a skiing holiday. Got three triple rooms in the one lodge (lodge T i think?) which had an awesome view of the Remarkables! One of the higher-up lodges I think, and the short uphill walk was definitely worth it for the view. The lodges were warm (heating in every... more

This place was a mistake for us - but it would be fine for backpackers. It's tricky for us as a family of 5 to get good accommodation without costing a fortune, so we gave this a go. We were put in a detached 1940s era house on site (next to the more modern buildings pictured on the website) which... more

Pinewood accomodations span bot side of the hamilton drive. Painted bright red among the garden greens, the whole aspect of this place is amazing. We stayed in a twin ensuite room which was, tho small, clean, had a flat screen TV and a spic bathroom. Just a 5 min walk away from shotover street, yet far enough not to be... more

Although the service was great and atmosphere friendly, the presence of a rat in one of our bedrooms horrified us. Our family of seven stayed in one the old style family self-contained units and at first were pleased with our accomodation - it was tidy and had a nice homely feeling - until one of us spied a rat scrambling... more

We stayed here 3 nights and it's a wonderful set-up. We booked a private room -- there was only two of us but they gave us enough beds to sleep 4. Shared bathroom/kitchen/lounge. Everything very clean and in great working order. Short 5 minute walk to the town center with all the restaurants and bars. A couple of grocery stores... more

Pinewood, ah, i just can't say enough good things about Pinewood. The staff were super cool, friendly and just fun. They also knew a lot of stuff, like where to go, places to eat. Not to mention, they were funny, too. But looks aren't everything... ha ha ha. The set up is quite nice especially compared to lots of other... more

I stayed here while travelling around New Zealand in Feb 2006. There were 3 of us (2 girls and 1 guy) staying in their backpacker accommodation. This was by far the best hostel we stayed in during our time in New Zealand. The set-up is fabulous - its lots of little buildings, each with its own kitchen and bathroom. There... more
