The hotel room is a little dated but perfectly adequate and good value for money. I paid for the cheapest room and received an upgrade to a Lake view which was nice. It's about a 15 minute walk into town and the walk back is a bit uphill but not too bad. more

The beds were *frickin* uncomfortable man! I have never had such a bad night's sleep in a hotel. The mattress was Hard and pillows obviously YEARS old, resulting in lumpy, flat uncomfortableness!!! Despite that, it was in a very pretty area, and the staff were very nice. Just need some better pillows and mattresses! more

Pleasant enough place. Neither particularly good nor particularly bad. Within walking distance of downtown Queenstown. Clearly relies heavily upon groups transported by bus. Indoors parking. No exercise facility, although guests can use the sub-par facility across the street. TV's are old. Internet unnecessarily expensive. more

I would definitely recommend this place as one of the nicest hotels to stay In Queenstown. There is so much accommodation in town and many of the places are older style and over priced but the Copthorne is not one of them. It came recommended via the Tourist Info office on Shotover St, Queenstown (great bunch of people working there).... more

I've stayed here a number of times and it's location is stunning. I love going for a walk in the morning before work and I cross my fingers that I'm given a room with a view. This was the case last week but I wish I hadn't been too busy to fill out the comments card (I think that is... more

We were disppointed with this hotel. Despite the reputation of the hotel brand, this hotel was uninspiring with limited facilities (no fitness facilties, pool etc) and very average service from the staff. It was slightly run down and expensive for what if offered, compared to other hotels and motels in the town. more

After being booked here as part of a group travel deal, I was not really looking forward to staying after reading reviews, so was surprised at how good it actually was. We had a room with lake & mountain views which was lovely and the location was a short walk from town. The only negatives we found were the water... more

we stayed here for 3 nights and throughly enjoyed it. the hotel is luxurious and our room was spacious, clean and opulent. the breakfast buffet offered a variety of food and was frequently replenished. staff were very helpful and always courteous and helped us in restaurant choices etc. the location was excellent - less than a 5 minute walk to... more

The hotel is close to the shops and restaurants via a short walk. The view from the room was spectacular, #3419, if you have the extra money, it is well worth the lake view room. Continental breakfast was very good, the bar meals average. Transport picked us up at the hotel to take us to Coronet Peak, and dropped us... more

We stayed here for 3 days and got a great deal off "grabanight" website which was $65 NZ a night per room. We were really happy with this hotel as it is located resonably close so you can walk to the town centre. However it is a very large hotel and we tried to book the spa but it was... more
