After a very long drive from the glacier area on the West Coast, we were happy to drive into Queenstown and find the Copthorne. Actually, there are two, and we first went to the wrong one, on the same side as the water and crowded with a busload of tourists. We were glad to learn that ours was the other,... More

The staff could not be nicer at this hotel. Queenstown was the end of a one month NZ tour we had been in many a hotel and motel this one was plenty roomy and had a great view of the lake. The room was clean comfortable and even had a balcony. Short walk to town and most of the attractions.

We stayed here for four nights and it really was a good way to start our trip. The hotel was close enough for us to walk into town, the view from our room was beautiful and it was a spacious apartment. Seriously good value for the money we paid. The only complaint we could have had is the food is... More

Lake views from the upper floors only and you are right on the main road with traffic all night. The room was comfortable and spacious with two big beds and a good bathroom. We parked in their garage and then found six steep steps down inside the hotel to negotiate with suitcases. It would have been worse on departure carrying... More

My husband and I were part of the Slow Spokes group that recently stayed at Copthorne Hotel & Apartments Queenstown. Although a very stark looking building on the outside we found the apartment to be roomy with a well appointed kitchen, small ensuites but a lovely private balcony with views over Lake Wakitipu. The enjoyable walk into town takes about... More

We stayed at the Lakeview for 3 nights on arriving in NZ. It's described I think as a short walk into town.. It's not. It would have been all up hill to get back, so I'm glad we had the car. We had a twin room, which was ok. The beds had heated blankets which was nice, and the bathroom... More

Enjoyed a two night stay here. Not the most attractive building externally but the views from our terrace right over the lake and mountains were amazing. A lovely stroll through the municipal gardens takes you right to the lakeside. Quite a pull coming back up to the hotel though! It seemed a random allocation as to whether you got a... More

I had a Superior Room which looked out to the Remarkables Mt. Range. The bed was comfortable and warm, and the shower over the bath had good pressure. The in unit entertainment system was modern with ample connection points. The turndown service needs to ensure that the ALARM is not set for the next unsuspecting traveller. I was woken at... More

Very comfy rooms. Fairly large terrace with view of Lake Wakatipu. But because the terraces are quite large you can see into the adjoining rooms. So be aware the neighboring terraces also have a view of your room from these particular rooms. About a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Queenstown. Be careful. Crossing the streets can be tricky with the... More

Stayed for three nights, all staff were very friendly and helpful! Nice big room, two queen beds and kept very clean each day. A nice 10 minute walk into town each day, bit of a hill on the way back, which I knew all about when I booked, but need the exercise to try and work some of the food... More
