From start to finish, this was the ' top ' stay during our 6 weeks in NZ. The luxury room, with a fantastic view, the complimentary goodies and drinks, the daily wine tasting and Amandas fabulous cooking at breakfast and dinner. The Lodge is an absolute 'must' for cricket lovers (ask John about Geoff Boycott !) and we watched the closing stages... We spent two nights with John and Amanda April 22 and 23, 2015 this was a great experience. We were truly guests in their home, they couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great stay. John gave a tutorial in New Zealand wine and Amanda was kind enough to shear some wool from 2 of their sheep so I... More

We first met John and Amanda when they were skipper and chef on a luxury yacht in Turkey. We were docked alongside in our more modest yacht and when they saw our Aussie flag hailed us as long lost friends. We instantly gelled. Over the years we have met them in various locations and on this trip we were 6... More

Many many thanks to all those guests who stayed with us in April and have taken the time to post their comments on Trip Advisor. We have had another wonderful season and with it drawing to an end it will be sad that we do not continue to have lovely new experiences with people like you good folks. The yarns... More

We have stayed at many B and B type establishments around the world and Queenstown Country Lodge is simply the best and yes definitely "better than all the rest". The three rooms are all beautifully appointed with no attention to detail spared. The views from each of the rooms of rolling hills dotted with sheep grazing is tranquility at its... More

John and Amanda set the bar high for any other accomodations. Their warm welcome, attention to detail, and beautiful property may make you want to move in! The location is outside of Queenstown so you do need a car, but then it is easy to get to Arrowtown, Wanaka, the airport, Glenorchy, and Milford Sound. John seems to have hiked... More

This lovely house in beautiful surroundings is just outside Queenstown so it is important to have a car. Amanda and John were amazing hosts who could not do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. And it was. The meals and breakfasts were really good. The rooms were very comfortable. It was fun feeding and "talking" to the pet... More

We loved staying at this spacious luxury B&B. The hosts, Amanda & John are very knowledgeable about the area & just delightful! The breakfasts are imaginative & delicious. The welcoming dinner was one of the best we had in all of New Zealand - Amanda is a fabulous chef! There are 3 bedrooms here. Each is very roomy, has lots... More

We had spent several years planning a trip of a lifetime to Oz and New Zealand and this was our first stop and stay after leaving Sydney. We agree with another reviewer that after staying here the bar had been set extremely high and may have been hard to beat. From the moment we arrived Amanda and John and made... More

We were only in Queenstown Country Lodge for 2 nights but could have stayed forever. A real highlight of our 1 month trip and we shall definitely visit again (sadly not for 18 months before our next trip....) Amanda & John are lovely people and their attention to detail is outstanding. We ate dinner 'at home' for both nights (as... More

We stayed with Amanda and John at the beginning of our 6 week holiday in New Zealand and when we left commented to them that they had really given everyone else something to live up to! Six weeks later and we have returned home after staying in some wonderful places with delightful hosts but Queenstown Country Lodge is still number... More
