This lodge is an excellent place from which to explore both Queenstown and the beautiful surrounding countryside. The lodge is so comfortable - we had a day of rain and happily spent it watching a movie in the TV area. Breakfast was excellent and the wine tasting and canapes were also very good. One of the highlights of the trip... More

We stayed at the Queenstown Country Lodge for 4 nights on the last leg of our driving holiday around the South Island. What can I say....Amanda and John are the perfect hosts meeting our every need and making us feel very much like family. The accommodation was perfect, big size bedroom and bathroom with a majestic view to the mountains,... More

John and Amanda are the most open, fun loving and thoughtful people we met on our October trip to New Zealand. In ten minutes you think you've been life long friends. Their home is warm, very spacious and inviting. Our room was more than ample and we looked out over the fields behind the house...lots of sheep. Amanda's breakfasts were... More

Lovely place sitting a bit out of the main town. Quite hard to find behind large hedges. No obvious signs until inside the drive. Modern open plan house with very welcoming hosts. Lovely rooms and hosts work hard to provide amenities. Some Rooms do lack power outlets and given modern needs for multiple devices to be charged there is a... More

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at this lovely lodge. Our hosts, John and Amanda, were fascinating conversationalists and introduced us to many delicious local wines. We chose to have dinner at the lodge and discovered that everything we had heard about Amanda's gourmet cooking was true. Our room was elegant and included two comfortable reading chairs and... More

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and spacious with a nice view over the fields at the back of the property. We stayed in the Merino room. A great breakfast overlooking the garden. We particularly enjoyed the canapés and wine tasting each night. One night it was very clear with no clouds and John... More

In January my wife and I had a long planned trip to New Zealand staying exclusively in B&B's and lodges selected by a professional agency out of Seattle. We stayed in some amazing places throughout the country - and our favorite was the Queenstown Country Lodge. This was a beautiful property located midway between Queenstown and the charming, and much... More

Midway between the tourist bustle of Queenstown and the quaint village of Arrowtown is Queenstown Country Lodge, perhaps as fine an example of Kiwi hospitality as you will find in New Zealand. Amanda and John are perfect hosts. She prepares spectacular dinners and to-order breakfasts. He presents exquisite wine tastings each evening and is happy to elaborate on what to... More

Queenstown Country Lodge was the highlight of our 3 week trip to NZ. John and Amanda are lovely hosts, the accommodations are first class, and the breakfasts and dinners are works of art. Other highlights included eating tomatoes right off the vine in the garden, feeding the sheep over the back fence, John's explanations of the fine points of rugby... More

This is quite simply a wonderful lodge in which to stay. Our welcome was great, our room quiet and very beautifully decorated with views across the surrounding countryside. Nothing was omitted for our comfort and enjoyment. Breakfasts were scrummy - we were offered whatever we wanted - and the six o'clock drinks were always fun. John gave us a tour... More
