A very clean hostel, great location, nice staff but it's really a place to push out...and nothing more. If you want so sleep go somewhere else, if you want to have party: enjoy ! (the kitchen is tiny, not easy to cook)

I just stayed here one night in January 2014 before catching a bus to Christchurch. The second floor room overlooked the adjacent park and the hostel is very close to the waterfront. Apparently the Crossfit training camp/meeting was going on in the adjacent park so I luckily got the last room. I received a 4 bed mixed share with an... More

We took a 4 bed ensuite, a little small but manageable. Have to highlight that their shared kitchen is really neat, so if you are planning to do some cooking, this is definitely a plus point. No free parking around this area, understandably as it is located right smack in the city center. The nearest is at Man Street about... More

Really liked the double beds in this hostel. The room was a bit small for 4 people though. Nice to have an ensuite. Lots going on. Film night was fun. Kitchen was a little small but functional. Free tea and coffee was helpful.

After staying in many hostels across Europe this hostel is probably the best I've stayed in worldwide! Awesome friendly staff who will come to the pub for a beer and point you in the right direction for anything needed. Great discounts at The Find pub and ski rental places through the hostel. And it was full of awesome people from... More

Great clean hostel, the staff are really nice, the rooms are clean. The walls are paper thin but you are staying in a hostel so get earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The noise actually comes from party people outside more than inside as they shut up the common areas at 10 for those who want to sleep. The... More

This hostel has an awesome atmosphere and is perfect for snowboarders/skiers. The location is central and near lots of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. The staff were really friendly and the common areas were nice. Our only complaint was that it was pretty loud at night (noise coming from outside the hostel, not so much from within) -- but a fair... More

Absoloot is located right in the middle of the action, smack bang in town and practically on the shores of the lake. The staff were friendly right from the start with access to the small storage room and the larger ski/board storage area. They were handy for other information as well including bookings and taking care of a refund due... More

My husband and I decided to book a room for two nights here, hearing how expensive Queenstown is. Following these two nights, we booked a night Te Anau, and then one more night in Queenstown... but at a different hotel "just in case." Sooo glad we chose a different hotel our 3rd night! We arrived before check-in time, and the... More

I have been travelling around Australia and New Zealand for the past two and a half years and Absoloot Value was the best hostel I've stayed at so far. On check in, there was almost no wait and I was checked in by a friendly lady, who told me everything I needed to know about the hostel as well as... More
