I stayed here twice recently as a base for skiing. The location couldn't be more convenient. A short flat and quite picturesque walk following the creek to the town centre. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and obliging, carrying my bags, storing my skis, arranging taxis. I certainly got the royal treatment. Both times my room was warm and... More

I went to Queenstown for snowboarding and the first thing that you want to see in a hotel in the ski season is warm place. And they certainly achieved that. Nothing was better than getting to a warm room with warm shower after a good ski in the slopes. The staff were very friendly and the facilities that were provided... More

Lovely accommodation, it was very clean, location is close (walking distance) to the city center and other facilities. The manager on duty was very friendly and helpful with all our enquiries. Good Stay

I stayed in a 6-dorm-room which usually is a good size-but since the room and the hole lodge is located directly at the street the traffic noise carried on through the hole night. There wasn't enough space to store all our backpacks and suitcases and stuff, so it was pretty improvised! On top of that the party growd staying in... More

We stayed here (double room) several times amidst our travels and treks on South Island. All but one time our room was in the separate building out back, where toilets / showers are shared between pairs of rooms. This greatly reduces (but does not quite eliminate) the inconvenience of having shower and toilet combined. The separate kitchen and dining area... More

Came back for a third time to Aspen Lodge. We also tried other backpacker options on other nights that will also be reviewed. But suffice to say Aspen will win hands down for the friendly staff and clean and tidy facility. We booked a twin room with shared bathroom. The sharing was with only one other room so was never... We booked a private room with shared facilities. We only had to share the bathroom with one other room. The showers were fantastic and hot. There were two common areas, one for the private rooms and the main common room for shared rooms. The kitchen for the private rooms was a bit small but manageable. It gets a bit cramped... More

This was our 3rd stay with Sally and Mandy, the lovely proprietors of Aspen Lodge. Those girls go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The place is spotless and so reasonably priced compared to elsewhere in Queenstown. The communal kitchen is set up with everything you would need. They even supply free coffee, tea and sugar.... More

Great bright, clean rooms! Clean bathrooms, good facilities. The receptionist (the lady with the bandana) is soooo nice! Loved her! Nice little backpacker. Its not rated so high on the bbh rating, but I think its one of the best weve had :)

Best out of the 4 hostels we've stayed at in Queenstown. Friendly, helpful staff and a very short walk from town (no steep hills, yay!). Wonderful clean toilets, showers, bed, kitchen. The quiet lounge (the other lounge is a tv lounge) is a nice touch as usually backpacker hostels tend to get very noisy. Our 4-bed room was just next... More
