We stayed in one of the upper level rooms which had a terrific view over the main street of Queenstown and out onto the lake and the Alps beyond. The room itself was quiet, warm, spacious and along with the kitchen and bathroom was immaculately kept. The facilities were ideal for self catering. There was free Wi-Fi included, and the... More

We stayed in one of the two bedroom units for three nights at the end of June and would highly recommend Amber Lodge for its location, cleanliness and service. It was great value for money and would definitely stay there again!! Sue and Alan were very welcoming when we arrived and also helpful at checkout. The unit was clean and... More

It's hard to find a decent place with kitchen facilities so this was perfect. The heaters are on timers so it was a little cold at times but I couldn't really fault it, especially with the very comfy bed and electric blanket. The staff and owners were all friendly and helpful and even gave us some extra internet without charge.... More

Our group had a terrible experience with this place. First of all, the heaters were not working properly and it was freezing in Queenstown that I caught a bad cold. Also, the "cleaners" done not so much in cleaning up. Moreover, were not assigned parking space and we received no help at all in finding one. We can forgive poor... More

Rude owners and just told us to sort our own parking out. Got a phone call threatening to turn our power off by 11pm cuz we were laughing at our room! You want to have a good time in Qtown don't stay at Amber Lodge. Our sheets was not change for 3days.

We spent 7 nights at the Amber Lodge. Benefits: perfect for walking to town centre for restaurants, enough of the main strip to be quiet at night, kitchenette allowed us to do our own breakfasts some mornings and keep the basics in the fridge. The room was serviced with clean towels and bed making each day. Basic but clean and... More

Stayed at the Amber Lodge Motel in Queenstown in Feb. 2014. Sue and Alan were very friendly and accommodating the whole 3 1/2 days we were in Queenstown. The unit was really large, which was a nice change from, even more modern and more expensive accom. we had stayed in, throughout NZ. Our views were magical of the Queenstown area.... More

My partner and I stayed here for 4 days last year on our trip to Queenstown. We needed somewhere reasonably central so we could easily get to local bars, restaurants, down to the lake and to go on all the activities we booked, that wasn't too expensive - or over a bar so we could get some sleep in a... My partner and I went for a romantic weekend and I have to admit this lodge was not my first choice but the only nice and affordable place I found. I wasn't particularly impressed with the look as well but I have to say "never judge a book by its cover"! The exterior is not flash but the rooms are... More

Stayed with them for a few days while in the south island. It was a pretty good place to stay. The location was great as it was located centrally with everything close by. The view was awesome as well! The rooms were a bit old and not as good as most of the modern places to stay. But it wasn't... More
