We stayed there for 3 nights over Christmas in a lake view room. The room was luxury, spaciuos, with a King Size Bed, a couch, a spaciuos bathroom with a walk-in shower and a spaciuos balcony from which you have an overwhelmig view over the lake. They offer free movies where other hotels charge pay-per-view style. Also, the free coffee... More

Nothing in this hotel works.. I understand that this is a very busy period of the year. But having all the requests turned blank, were really something that I have never experienced at a 5-STAR hotel before. First, our Mount Cook tour was not booked at all despite the email correspondences we had months ago, luckily the manger-on-duty, Micka was... More

The hotel seems to lack good management. All the basics are there, it is just poorly executed. Dinner was poor, a very long wait for substandard food. The breakast suffers similarly. There seems to be sufficient staff but they appear to have insuffient experience to run a not particularly busy service. On a positive note the rooms are clean and... More

We stayed in a 3 bed apartment, lots of room and 3 tvs were a hit with the kids... 3 bathrooms were brilliant. Beds are super comfy. There is an hourly shuttle that goes to town, which is great if its not full when u need to go. Breakfast staff deserve a mention. I usually get up early, and had... More

We stayed for three nights at the Rees and enjoyed our stay. The plus points for us were the beautiful view over the lake, a lovely comfortable room and the brilliant staff. Clare, in particular was most helpful but everyone tried really hard to make our stay the best it could be. The negative points were the major construction works... More

A perfect start to our South Island road trip - we stayed in a beautiful lake view room (make sure you book one with a spa bath) with stunning views - excellent and polite service and incredibly helpful concierge, who handled all of our activity booking - special mention to Sebastian, Guy, and Lilian - an absolute pleasure to deal... So booked a nice room here at the Rees Hotel online six months in advance. The hotel and booking.com were not in communication and my booking dropped through he cracks (not the hotels fault). Ended up with a smaller room facing the lake and the extensive site works being carried out. No A/C in the rooms, so this tiny room... More

Really nice property although as others accurately described it is "pricey". Then again, all the hotels are pricey in Australia by American standards. They pay a living wage to employees and we're fine with that. The location is not in walking distance of the tourist spots downtown, but buses and a hotel shuttle are available and taxis are readily available... More

We spent four nights at the Rees. We had a lake view room. This is a must if staying at the hotel. The views are stunning. The room was spacious, clean and modern. The walk into Queenstown was approx 30 mins. It is a lovely walk along the water front. Alternatively use the hotels hourly courtesy bus. Staff were all... More

We stayed a few nights at this hotel and it was very very nice. Bed was great, shower was great and floor heating a nice touch. It has a nice view of the lake and a cosy little balcony. There is some construction going on in front of the hotel which is not nice to look at but no noise... More
