The Reavers Lodge, Queenstown is situated about a fifteen to twenty minute walk from the centre of the town, it is on a hillside accessed by having to climb a very steep hill, you have to be fit ! It is clean and tidy and is good for people on an budget, breathtaking view if you have a room at... More

We were doing a driving holiday of the South Island and were looking forward to a 3 night stay in beautiful Queenstown. The moment we arrived at Reavers Lodge we'd realized that this was a backpackers lodge (photo's deceiving )The rooms were small , no chairs, table, tiniest bathroom not even a toaster. Because it was a very busy weekend there were no... More

After spending three days at this lodge, would consider it to be one of the best lodge in the city, great central location, walking distance to all attractions and restaurants This is a lodge in the heart of Queenstown and perfectly staffed. There was a mix up with my booking (my agent didn't book in the correct room) but the... More

Within 4 weeks of travelling in NZ, this was the worst place I have seen. The room seemed not to be cleaned for ages, cobwebs all over the place, a broken sofa and a small place to sleep where you could not open a window. The ceiling at the bed is so low that you can easily hurt yourself. Furniture... More

My wife and I stayed at Reavers for one night during a business trip. Sure, it's up a steep hill, sure it could do with a little maintenance and cleaning, sure, it could be a little noisy at times, but it is really a low budget back packers accommodation, you get what you pay for. It's no use critics complaining... More

We stayed mid February 2015, We were a group of 5 women. 3 in one room, 2 people in the other room. We booked a month in advance, for 2 rooms. Upon booking into the lodge we found our rooms at opposite ends of the site. Our room was up stairs ( no elevator) you had to carry your suitcase... More

Better than expected , walking distance to CBD, nice lake and mountain view, clean and fresh shared room. We love cooking and we have a huge communal kitchen with all cooking utensils. cheapest in town , but service from the heart, The manager and front staffs are so helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed staying there and will come back... More

The room we had was meant to be a double room, but the bed wasn't a double but it was a single bed and a camp stretcher with a thin mattress on top. when we went to go to bed the beds separated. We complained the next day and got a better room. The bathroom in the first room wasn't... More

Stayed there for a couple of nights. Access to the site is through a very steep hill which is hard going by foot. It's about 15min walk to the town center. Free breakfast in the morning, unlimited toasts and cereals, the quality is decent as well as I've had free breakfast other places where the bread was tasteless and milk... More

The room and the accommodation itself turned out to be nothing like what it was advertised on their website. Definitely misleading information, for one the motel was not advertised as being a backpackers lodge which it clearly turned out to be and we only realised when we walked in. The motel is located at the top of a hill and... More
