We stayed here for two nights in one of the chalets. The chalet itself was spacious, warm and had great views of the mountains and a passing stream. The bathroom had a very good sized bath in it. The TV was usual fare for New Zealand - free to air + 3 Sky channels (BBC World News, National Geographic and... More

I stayed for one night in the hostel in early May. My visit did not start super well, as the shuttle was 30 minutes late picking me up, but this was made up for at the end of my trip, when the shuttle driver offered me a lift back to my pick up point outside of shuttle hours. Check in... More

We stayed in a camper here one night and thought it was great. Really large bathrooms and they made a killer soup:). There's only 2 places to stay on Milford and only one if you have a camper so I found it a little amusing when they asked how we heard about the place. Internet. Is via satellite so very... More

I stayed at Milford Sound Lodge only one night. The lodge is located very close to a river and is surrounded by those amazing and tall mountains. Also people could walk from there to the very end to attend a cruise, the small airport (helicopter flights) and to the bus port. When I arrived I had no idea where to... More

I only stayed a night, and it's true that there are only about two places where you can stay overnight in Milford Sound, not giving you much of a choice, but still, the Lodge is set in a beautiful place, with a stone's throw away from lovely little walks you can take. There isn't much to do if you need... More

After walking the iconic Milford Track the Milford Sound Lodge is the perfect place to relax and celebrate the achievement. Friendly staff and a good coffee marked a pleasant return to civilisation. Our reasonably priced double room was warm and more than adequate. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are excellent. The lounge and common room areas are comfortable and welcoming.... More

The only place to stay in Milford Sound. My husband and I stayed in the hostel portion in a private double. The bathrooms are not ensuite but were very close and the walk was covered from the elements. The kitchen was clean and spacious and wine and beer is available for sale. To be frank, the room was perfectly fine and... More

Only stayed here one night but it truly was the highlight of our trip to New Zealand. The riverside chalets are beautiful with a most comfortable bed. Kitchen well equipped, chalet beautifully furnished. As kitchen had no hob (but everything else) I went to main block kitchen to cook my pasta! This made the evening even more enjoyable as you... There is surprisingly a severe lack of accommodation in Milford Sound so this is really THE only place to stay, so book ahead in case they are full as it is a very long drive back to the nearest town Te Anu It is backpacker accommodation but was filled with a wide variety of people, middle aged couples, families with... After having spent two weeks touring NZ we have decided that the Chalet we stayed in at the Milford Sound Lodge was THE best room we had in the entire trip. The heated floor, the view, the heated mirror in the bathroom, the size of the chalet etc. made it a 6 star room for us. We had a full... More
