I've stayed in better Quest apartments. They are all basically do-it-yourself affairs with no staff apart from the receptionist (who goes home at night). Usually a serviced apartment has all the neccessary equipment to be self sufficient, including laundry facilities - unfortunately this one doesn't. It's more or less your typical two room hotel room (bedroom and bathroom) with a... more

This hotel was adequate for it's purpose, but not as good as other Quest Apartments I've stayed in. I arrived after dark, and the room was very cold, and did not have enough lighting (particularly with high ceilings and wooden floors). The one and only heater took about four hours to get the room to a comfortable temperature. Otherwise the... more

We stayed 1 night in the hotel and the room has been nicely renovated. It is a very comfortable hotel. Shame about the noisy traffic outside as the hotel is on the corner of two major roads. Double shame that we happened to book on a weekend when there was a car/bike rally. Although as soon as the ear plugs... more

Do not stay in these apartments! I have stayed here a few times on business. The rooms themselves are spacious, well equipped with a small kitchenette and close to facilities. However, do not expect cleaniness. On my first morning I took my usual shower, pulling a neatly folded towel off the rack. I proceeded to dry my hair, moving downward... more

The Quest Invercargill is a very tasteful remodelling of the old Post Office building in central Invercargill. It is a lovely building with very large rooms tastefully appointed. My first impressions were of an excellent room with a decent lounge area and well appointed kitchen. The bathroom was excellent. Unfortunately, the bed was awful. It was clearly a very old... more

We really didn't know what to expect from a "Serviced Apartment", but were very pleasantly surprised. Bang in the middle of Invercargill, we had a huge room complete with washing machine & tumble drier. Clean & comfortable, and excellent value. Invercargill probably gets an unfairly bad press in other reviews, it is worth a visit. more

Good well-equipped modern serviced studio in restored historic post office. Friendly staff, well priced. However traffic noise from bored Invercargill teenagers went most of Friday night. Ask for a room away from the Tay St side. more

Quest is definitely the place to stay in Invercargill. Nice old building, well refurbished but staying in character. Apparently some more (minor) restorations are planned. I had an executive studio, featuring beautiful leather furnishings and a large bathroom - i think the regular studios are missing the leather? Central location yet remarkably quiet in the room, all very clean and... more

The Quest is as central as you can get in Invercargill. For those who don't know Quest is an Australasian business accommodation chain, specialising in longer stays. But they're equally welcoming to one-night tourists like us. For your NZD 125 (=£50) we got: a very large corner room with six windows, a large kitchen area, dining area, living area, all... more
