I actually came upon this B&B by default. I wanted a hotel room in town close to the Intercity bus stop. However, even though my hotel search started 5 months before my trip, every place in the city was booked solid. Apparently, there was a huge cricket match in town during my stay and there were no rooms to be... More

Holly and Robyn are lovely hosts and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and give us all the information we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfasts were delicious. Our room was huge but gloomy (despite two large windows overlooking the street) and poorly laid out with functional furniture. The bed was comfortable but the... More

We enjoyed our two night stay at Deacons Court. Beautiful old house with large comfortable rooms. Conservatory looking over charming garden was a lovely place to enjoy breakfast. Holly and Robyn very welcoming and friendly. Great location!

We really enjoyed our two-night stay with Robyn and Holly. The room was great--large and comfortable. The breakfasts were better than what we had had in restaurants. The location was convenient, too. We did have to climb up the hill to get back from the city, but because we walk a lot, that wasn't really an issue. Great place to... More

The Old World charm of the beautifully maintained historic house was matched by the welcoming friendliness of hosts Robyn and Holly. The house is immaculate with attention to detail both practically and aesthetically. Robyn and Holly live discreetly upstairs so with our three couples we had the private use of the downstairs area including kitchen and beautiful fully glassed conservatory... More

We enjoyed our one night stay after going to Doubtful Sound. The home is old but beautifully maintained. Our bedroom was like a palace. The hosts were just attentive enough. Breakfast was enough to feed a small army. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Very clean, extremely comfortable, outstanding breakfasts, a beautiful sunny atrium, knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful hosts. Our luggage was delayed and Ash went out of his way to help us. We enjoyed our conversations in the morning and learned a lot about New Zealand in general. With all the choices Dunedin has to offer, I would stay at Deacon's Court... More

From the moment we walked through the door my husband and I felt at home. Deacons Court is a beautiful old building and the bedroom we had, which was located at the front, had a view across Dunedin looking towards the Otago Peninsula. I loved the breakfast, reading room and chatting to Ash in the morning whilst cooking our breakfasts.... More

We stayed for 5 nights at the Deacons Court in January 2011 (this review is looong overdue). We found the room to be suprisingly large and comfortable for 3 (2 adults and a child) people. We had an excellent view from the bay window. Full breakfast was nice and served in the nicely appointed conservatory. Our host Ash was very... More
