From the outside Forrester Lodge looks very unappealing. The fence looks like it should be enclosing a used car yard, and some large flower pots would not go astray! However, once inside it is a lovely place with two very friendly hosts. The room we were in, a twin, was spacious and light with ample storage and comfortable beds. The lounge are contained some very modern lounges and a decent sized TV, with large windows all around. The Lodge is a converted maternity hospital and the conversion has been well done (in comparison with a converted old persons' home we stayed in later in Invercargill). Breakfast was not included in our tariff but that did not phase us as Dunedin is full of cafes and restaurants. more
