My title may sound a little strange. I have thought a long time--nearly three years--before writing this review. The hotel itself is small and well managed. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was certainly adequate. The location is all one could ask for if one is working at the university, or if one wants to head into the city.... More

5-10 minute walk from centre of town. Welcoming staff. High standard of cleanliness. Delightful (small)garden at time of our visit and breakfast room very pleasant. Only down side was a little bit noisy from other guests through the walls e.g.I could hear someone snoring at night from afar but on the whole very pleased with our stay. More

We overnighted at this hotel and it suited our needs perfectly. The room was a good size and clean, the bed was comfy, the shower good and the location is great. Breakfast was plain but ample and all we wanted or needed and the off-street parking was very handy. We didn't hear any outside/street noise. Some of the electrics in... More

Stayed one night. Booking in was easy. Room maybe a little small but if you have stayed in a hotel in Japan it was large by comparison .Room was quiet and well appointed. Free use of adjoining public car park. Location was great - only 5 mins walk to centre of Dunedin. Included breakfast consisted of toast + cereal. More... More

A minor mishap revealed an unfortunate management attitude. An hour after checking out, I returned to the George Street to recover an item I had left in the refrigerator - a full factory wrapped round of cheese in a gift box that I had intended to present to a chef friend ($30). It was gone without at trace. A thorough... More

Very poor experience with this hotel. - Lovely furniture in the rooms, but very small. - There was no crockery or cutlery apart from tea cups and teaspoons. This meant the microwave was a total waste of space. - The wheel chair accessable bathroom was so poorly designed that the entire floor was covered with water after every shower, requiring... More

We loved the ambience of this brick and tile lodge. Close to all restaurants and with a lovely garden. Rooms were perfect with extremely comfy beds. This lodge only caters for a limited number so it is cosy and intimate. The whole building was beautifully warm on a cold pre winter's night. Staff were thoughtful and accommodating. Breakfast was enjoyed... More

Tucked away slightly from the main street, it was a good find - and battering a good deal was an inspired idea. It was comfortable and clean and a nice jacuzzi bath. There were some good looking motels and some not so nice looking ones, and we'd say that this one fared amongst some of the better. More

In 4 months of travelling, this was the most comfortable bed I've slept in! Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the centre - it's a flat walk. Room was rather small but ok for a single traveller. Shower could have been more powerful. Breakfast was excellent quality. Just cereal and toast and coffee but very good. More
