Stayed here twice in May and will definitely stay again. Fabulously restored historic building in a central location, quick walk to the Octagon and waterfront. Our room was warm and we easily found street parking(free on weekends). Loved the old manual elevator and the historic vibe that is so much a part of the Dunedin experience. Friendly and helpful staff... More

Thank you for your review of Park Regis Dunedin. It is so gratifying to hear from guests who love the city and its unique feel and I was thrilled to read that staying with us at the Park Regis- locally well known as the old DB Wains Hotel- appears even to have enhanced your experiences of Dunedin thus far! Thank you for your review of Park Regis Dunedin. As I explained on what would have been the second day of your stay, we do have some floors that do not have direct lift access, however we have plenty of rooms in every category that do. Moreover the rooms that are only accessible by a small flight of stairs have... More

to all the fantastic staff who made my stay and special birthday even more special... I arrived late on 10 June after a 12h bus trip and was told that I had been upgraded to a suite! A special gift was also purchased by the friendly staff: Ritchie Regis the cat is doing well and loving his Blenheim home! I... More

Bathrooms need updated. Door lock was faulty. Nice decor. Good coffee. Friendly helpful staff. Good location. Didn't try restaurant. Parking was difficult. Love the old elevator. Comments on this should be of any length. It's annoying to keep getting the review rejected cos it's not long enough!

Thank you for your review of Park Regis Dunedin and your feedback on the Tripadvisor response facility in general! I apologise for the issues with your door lock, unfortunately these are battery powered and as such do stop working from time to time. Nonetheless it sounds like you enjoyed your stay overall and we hope you choose to stay with... More

I like to stay here because of the price - $99 seems to be standard. Some rooms are OK, some are musty - although I've had worse. Yes, there is a freestanding heater, but it is quiet and seems to do the job quite well. That said, I would recommend you turn it on as soon as you get into... More

Thank you for your review of Park Regis Dunedin, your comments are much appreciated and it’s great that you consider us value for money and would return. Your feedback regarding breakfast is very fair, as a small hotel it is certainly challenging to provide a full cooked buffet with a large range of options, especially during the quiet winter months.... Thank you Sally and staff again for a lovely stay. Although it is now Regis instead of Mecure the standard is still high. Lovely big room, warm and comfortable. I enjoyed my 2 nights at the hotel, great room and comfy beds. Helpful and great staff with great room service and a nice restaurant . I needed lunch before going on a long bus trip and they went out of there way to make a toasted cheese and ham sandwich, may sound simple but it was great. Also a... More

Thank you for your kind review of Park Regis Dunedin, I am so glad that your stay with us met all your requirements. The toasted sandwich was our pleasure! Chef Chloe is happy to rustle up warm snacks for our guests, it certainly beats going outside to find one in the cold Dunedin winter. All the very best. Kind Regards,... More

We booked online because the hotel sounded good. Well, musty room, a broken freestanding heater, dirty curtains, worn and dirty carpet, plastic veneered furniture, almost no storage and I have seen better bathrooms in youth hostels. All of this for $180! Grossly overpriced for the standard of the room. Very, very disappointed with the room, and told that we had... More

Thank you for your review of Park Regis Dunedin I apologise for your unfortunate experience when you stayed with us recently. You probably have read all the comment on tripAdvisor regarding Park Regis, so let me just say, it's nota five stars nor a 4 stars. The staff is wonderful but that is not only what you are paying for, right? The bed was confortable, but rather cdold in the room as central heating is not adequate for such building structures....
