We recently stayed at the Mercure Leisure Lodge for 3 nights. Room was fine overlooking the garden. The hotel is about 2km out of town. Our reservation was supposed to include breakfast, however, receptionist advised us on arrival that they (the hotel management) had advised our holiday company that this was no longer included. We had not been notified of... More

Stayed two nights in a standard room with double beds on the first floor. The room was as expected, anodyne motel with everything you need for a good clean up and rest. The bathroom was OK and the beds were fine. Street noise is inevitable, given the location, so try and get a garden facing room if you can. We... More

Returned to hotel after a visit last year which was very good. Would recommend the hotel and it's restaurant for any visit. Would recommend you ask for a room with a garden view, as some of the other rooms may suffer from heavy traffic noise as the hotel is situated between the one way systems off the main Highway 1... The hotel is located on the edge of the Botanic Gardens which was very cool. Also close to Dunedin's China Town. Rooms were clean, definitely not small, and quiet even though it was close to the highway into town. Restaurant was fine, nothing special, but good quality and tasty food. Would stay there again. Staff had a great attitude...

This hotel is ok. If you just need somewhere to put your head and something to eat then it's perfect. The noise from the road if you are on that side can be annoying and so can the noise between rooms as there are lots of interconnecting doors between rooms. This hotel is popular for tours so be prepared for... More

We arrived late with a tour group requiring 9:00pm evening meal and the restaurant staff not only prepared a great meal, it was served promptly and pleasantly despite the late hour. Room was fine, too. We would recommend this hotel while staying in Dunedin.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. A good location near the main road, 5min drive to the city center/railway. Very clean room and bathroom. Free wifi and car park available. Very friendly staff with helpful information about the city and the Otago Peninsula. The hotel itself is quite old and the isolation is not the best (noise from... More

Overall the stay was fine but nothing stood out as being of a high standard. There is no lifts in the hotel so if you have mobility issues it may be best to request a ground floor room. There were no offers of taking bags to our room but this may be available upon request if someone felt they would... More

Stayed at the leisure lodge at the end of a week long road trip and the easy access to the location from SH1 was very much appreciated. A decent sized car park is available on site. Our ground floor rooms in the hotel (two double doubles) were wonderfully comfortable with beds that you could sink into for a perfect night... More
