Do not be fooled by the old fashioned look of this hotel. The hotel was a good stop over spot, centrally located, so great for seeing the central sights. The hotel itself was clean and spacious. The waitress (sorry didn't get her name) at the bar on the 23rd August was really good! The only negative was the security of... More

I stay in Accor properties a lot. In most Mercure properties you know exactly what you are going to get. A clean, safe, secure, middle of the road hotel room. I was pleasantly surprised by my recent stay at the Mercure leisure lodge in Dunedin. The rooms were large, the property open and spacious and the staff were all super... More

Only stayed one night at short notice but was happy with the service and facilities. Restaurant, bar and friendly service made the stay trouble free. Well positioned as you enter Dunedin and close to the town centre. Free wifi at the bar for 1 hour also works well as you relax at the end of the day. In my case... More

This hotel was more targetted towards older couples. The room and dining room were all adequate for staying with kids. The other couples in the dining room were older couples so I felt guilty about the childrens behaviour (being normal loud kids). Also in the rooms I could hear the people next door.

We have a diverse range of guests who choose to stay with us from families to business corporates, sports teams, bus tour groups, couples and individual travellers. We try to faciliate the type of stay each guest requires... More

The last time I stayed here quite a few years ago the place was a bit tired and out dated. I was pleasantly surprised to find a newly decorated room with modern furniture and bathroom. The room had a small balcony overlooking a nice garden lawn area. The heater was on when I arrived - always appreciated in winter and... More

Many thanks for your delightful review of our hotel. We are pleased we were able to meet most of your needs during your stay. Just a couple of clarifications: We are located across the road from the Dunedin Botanic Gardens, all 32 acres of them (they are NZ's oldest and quite spectacular during some seasons). We provide over 50 car... More

Lovely location opposite Dunedin Gardens and close to Supermarket. Good parking available. Rooms are generous with a 2 seater sofa and door opening to garden. Very comfortable bed. Only let down was having no electric blanket on bed for the winter season.

Thanks for your lovely review. The staff really appreciate your feedback and it will serve as encouragement for us to keep up our standards. It's true the hotel no longer provides electric blankets on beds but if you are feeling the pinch of winter, contact our Reception team - they have access to the good old NZ hot water bottle...
