We enjoyed our time at this hotel. The rooms are big, clean and well set out with modern facilities and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is on a busy road but was very quiet - we couldn't hear any road noise. Breakfast in the dining room was good. more

Our family of 5 stayed there for a couple of nights (2 adults, 2 kids under 8 and a baby) and thought it was o.k. While the room wasn't huge (2 double beds in it) it was enough for us as we were really only sleeping and showering there. The beds were very comfortable and the room was extremely warm... more

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel/motel which is very easy to find coming from the north on SH 1. It is situated between a couple of main roads - on a sort of island. My room, 72, had a view of the Botanical Gardens to a degree, which were on the far side of the main road. It... more

We stayed here as part of a coach tour of South Island. It is away from the centre of Dunedin in a quiet area with a pretty garden around and up to the doors of the rooms. The rooms we had were spacious and well decorated. They were clean and comfortable. There did not appear to be many other guests,... more

On our return to Dunedin we decided to try another chain and another type of accommodation. The hotel looked lovely with its well maintained lobby and gardens. The receptionist showed us to an exceptionally large and exceptionally clean room. The bathroom was also large and clean. The hotel is at the northern end of the town, close to the university,... more

We had a pleasant enough one night stay here, the room was adequate and the bathroom was nice. The lack of other guests (I only saw about 6 other people) gave the place a strange atmosphere though. We were feeling pretty exhausted during this stage of our NZ trek so we just ate in the hotel restaurant. We were slightly... more

Arranged around elegant gardens, the hotel is well designed. Our room was large and comfortable, the public areas pleasant and the staff helpful. It is very well situated for exploring both the city and the surrounding countryside. It's a favourite for tour groups(who get a Scottish piper and haggis ceremony with the package) so we opted for room service dinners,... more

Just undergone a refurbishment and re-branded under the Mercure banner. Rooms were modern, bright and appealing with good fittings. Balcony overlooking landscaped garden. Restaurant was literally empty but served good food. Service was good and location on the edge of town. more

Parking ok, but hard to find off road because no street signs. The beds were heated and the bathrooms very clean. more
