We stayed in the lodge for one one night end of February (2 adults and 2 children) The room was very nice and lovely. Amazing view and even a balcony. It was clean and quiet. We had a small baby cot inside the room and the whole family has a very good sleep. The bathroom is also ok. We also... More

Was absolute joy to stay at the Lodge for two nights and my favourite thing to do was perch on comfy chair and enjoy the spectacular view of the Otago Peninsular. Sometimes grey and broiding, sometimes sunshine sparkling on water From our beautiful room with a draped four poster bed, to breakfast across the cobblestones in the old renovated stables... More

There is no cost for guests to conduct their own tour of the gardens and the inside of the castle. We had dinner in the music room of the castle and the food was very good (3 course meal for $69 per head). Breakfast is in the old castle stables and is very quaint and the breakfast was excellent. Very... More

Stayed in the stable block, clean and comfortable although with shared bathroom. Evening meal was good with the opportunity to meet other travellers. Grounds and house were beautiful and it was lovely as a guest to be able to wander round them at will. Overall a good stay.

My wife and I are touring New Zealand and arrived at the Castle grounds gates around early afternoon. We stayed in the converted stables which has modest but acceptable rooms. Shared bathroom facilities but for one night it's no problem. Decided to book for the dinner - good choice, especially as the Castle is out of town along the Otago... More

I took Miss 13 here in January. What helped make our stay here so awesome was the service. We were taken to our rooms, had dinner on the balcony which had been ordered from the kitchen onsite. Our meals were huge and very nice. We opted out of the Castle dinner as it goes until quite late. We went out... More

What a wonderful place! On top of the world! You must go. The dinner was fun to experience. The staff were great. The views magnificent. Climbing to the top ramparts was fun. (short climb up spiral stairs). The landscaping around the property was beautiful. It was a great place to stay if you are going on tours to see the... More

Definitely recommend staying at Lanarch Castle and booking in for the dinner which enhances the whole experience. One night was plenty of time to experience the castle. Great breakfast was included in stay.
