Had two nights booked but on arrival found rooms to be dark and cold Had expected more Hotel style accommodation not Motel style. Found 4 star Hotel accommodation closer to the City Centre for less than we would have paid at Cargills. Would not recommend this Hotel. more

Below average dated room. Thin walls, cold until we put the heater on. Was given the wrong key on arrival and walked into someone else's room! We stayed here 2 nights in February 2006 and were pleasantly surprised (especially after the disappointing hotel in Te Anau). The exterior isn't much to look at and parking facilities aren't fantastic, but the service was quite good and we were lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a suite with spa. This is a unique hotel. From the outside, it really doesn't look like much, but inside, the courtyard is beautiful. Great garden setting with lots of color. Rooms were fine and clean and the staff very very helpful. Nice porch overlooking the street for morning coffee. Small market across the street and 100's of shops less than a mile down... more
