This B&B is in a peaceful spot at the top of a testing rough track. Its fine but you need to be warned. Once we were there we found a warm welcome from Marja. Our spacious room looked out on a pleasant garden scene. The bathroom was very large. We didn't rate Dunedin much. Its not really by the sea.... More

Located on the northern edge of town, with a pleasant country outlook but just a few minutes drive to the city centre. Friendly Kiwi couple running this lifestyle block. Modern house, comfy room and huge bathroom. Basic but entirely adequate breakfast - what you might fix yourself at home - cereals, toast, fruit salad etc. A nice change from fully... More

I found the description of this B and B throughly misleading ....I don't know when these photos were taken but they certainly do'nt represent where I stayed.....The website does'nt mention the steep unmade track that needs to be used to access what is a 'lifestyle' property It might be 40 acres but is set in the heart of a residential... We stayed for two days. The house is nice and it is well located if you have a car. Close to town but removed on a hill with animals. Overall the place was nice but it was not the most welcoming. It felt like we were bothersome when we asked for something like toast at breakfast or had questions. We... More

A great easy going place to stay. It's great to stay on a small farm and enjoy some of the produce at breakfast. The location is beautiful and handy to the city and the hosts are wonderful. We had stayed mostly in hotels for the week but the two nights here were by far the best.

Leithview is everything you'd want in a B&B in Dunedin. We were initially just looking for a place to sleep but found Leithview and decided it looked amazing. It's super close to town but located on a 40-acre working farm so you feel like you're in the countryside! At the last minute we took our dog but that wasn't a... More

This was the only farmstay we booked in our entire NZ trip and we have no regrets. We missed the entrance to the property in the first instance and later found it. As you drive up the hill you start falling in love with this place. We had booked all the 3 rooms availiable and Peter even managed to spare... More

Finding the entrance to Leithview Homestay can be a bit daunting without a GPS but the reward is certainly worth it. After landing in Dunedin on the busiest weekend of the year (Univ of Otago opening + the annual South Island Scottish piper band competion) it was particularly refreshing to arrive at this quaint country setting in the Leith River... Spent two nights at this accomadation with friends in march 2012 great room, breakfast and welcome. I left my fleece at the property when I left and Peter kindly posted it to a post office where we would be in a weeks time fab service.

Leithview is a warm, comfortable, relaxed place to stay. Our hosts were extremely accomodating when we arrived late from the airport and each morning a tasty, healthy breakfast was ready for us. The outlook from our room was beautiful. The view showed off the garden and the valley. We felt that we had privacy without being excluded from our hosts... More
